Why stay at the BCV?

For those who stay at BCV or will stay or have stayed...WHAT is the main (or the deciding) reason for your choice of BCV over other resorts?

It's our home resort--we just joined in March--so, we want to stay at our home

Besides being new, beautiful, having SAB, and sitting at Epcots back door, it is our new "home" - can't wait to try it. Sandie

We stayed at BCV in November both to "try it out," but also for the proximity to EPCOT and the F&W festival.

While we found that our view couldn't really compare to those that we've had at BWV in the past, we really appreciated the close parking as opposed to the valet at BWV.

In the future - if we want to stay in the EPCOT area, we'll probably choose BCV.

We stayed at the BC in '97 and thoroughly enjoyed the pool. On our next trip we became DVC members and pool hopped in '00 and March of this year. BC was my favorite resort until our stay at BWV. We hate to not have access to SAB and might possibly stay there someday so we can again experience it.

I just had to post about the theming. I thought it was gorgeous. SAB? I don't even swim, so that definitely didn't factor into my decision. And although I haven't stayed at BWV yet, so I can't compare, after staying at BCV, I don't have any reaon to try it. I don't see how I could prefer it. I could hear the music from Epcot, faintly I admit, and it was just heavenly.

I voted "other" - it was the only thing available. We booked the later half of our Oct/Nov trip at BCV for the two bedroom we needed when other family came to join us. The first half of the trip DH and I were at BWV in a one-bedroom overlooking the quiet pool and community hall.

Overall, we liked BCV but would choose BWV over it in the future. We enjoyed the ammenities and location of the Boardwalk just a bit more than the proximity to Epcot. It's pretty amazing how close it is, though! We were waiting for Illuminations one evening and got chilly. I ran back to the room for jackets and was back in our spot next to the crepe cart in France in 12 minutes flat!

When we stayed at BCV in July, it was easy to get from the resort to the parking lot to load/unload our car. We liked that.

Of course, our kids love Storm a Long Bay pool. We liked the quiet pool. We also like to eat at Beaches and Cream. The short walk to Epcot was nice also.

My husband and I will be staying at Boardwalk Villas in February. I'm sure we'll love it there, too.

We purchased specifically for the F&W fest. SAB is just an added bonus but in reality we spend very little time at any of the pools.

Voted location-but not because its better than BWV. We own at BCV and can reserve it at 11 months if necessary. BCV and BWV location is unbeatable for what we are looking for. SAB, theming and being new just make it a slam dunk.

How about the improved room configuration as a reason over BWV. There's room for a family to sit down at the table and eat together.

How about all of the above? The BC has been our favorite resort since we first stayed there shortly after they opened. We recently made our first trip "home" to BCV and it's still our favorite resort. We love SAB, Beaches & Cream, easy walk to Epcot, MGM and Boardwalk.

When is the Food and Wine Festival next year? We just returned from seven nights at AKL and got to tour our new home BCV...loved it! Our first stay will be next year and I hadn't thought of doing it to coinside with the F & W Festival....nice idea!!

Also it's interesting that, so far, it appears that almost 70% of the responses indicate a non-SAB reason.

yeah but SAB is still the #1 reason and the #2-"its new" will not be true after a while-it won't be new anymore--so what will that do to the numbers?

Not sure what your point is. I suppose we will have to settle for an awesome location (EPCOT, MGM, BW), SAB, beach atmoshere and just newer than BWV, VWL and OKW.

My point was in response to the post that 70% were selecting nonSAB reasons but that more than a third of that 70% was a reason that won't last...in other words once BCV is not new what will those 25% of people pick as their main reason for selecting BCV (if they still do)...I am just trying to get a more accurate and detailed sense for why people choose one resort over another.

BTW-jade1- I don't understand why you cast your vote for location...you said that the location of BCV was NOT the main reason you select BCV-you find its location equal to BWV therefore location is NOT your main reason for choosing BCV over BWV---you then site the other things that are the deciding factors in making BCV your choice...so it seems your vote would be more accurately cast for either SAB or the theme or the other column...the poll probably should have been worded differently-what is the deciding factor rather than the "main" factor-for you it sounds like the deciding factor over choosing the similarly located BWV is something other than location.

DS just informed me that the #1 appeal for him is proximity to Beaches and Cream! So I guess, add another vote for "other" (though I still go for theming).

I voted location because I can reserve BCV at 11 months-I cant do that at BWV because I dont own there. What your saying is why not just stay at BWV instead of BCV I think-if location is whats important. We love BWV but cant count on it being available and even so-there are reasons we would still stay at BCV some times. Your poll has some of those reasons, but you have to vote for one. If BCV was near OKW for example, we would not have bought points there-but we would have stayed there once in a while. I also dont think if you vote "new" as the main reason means you will never go to that resort ever again once it gets "old".
