Why so crowded mid-week in the middle of May?

Just perusing the calendar for a May trip. Anyone know why so many days in the middle of the week and sundays show the studios closing at 9:00?

Also, how late does the park have to be open before they show the cinematic spectacular?

They close at 9 so they can show the cinematic spectacular. It needs to be dark.
