Why So Busy Today (7/22)?

Ticket prices today are back to $180. Watch - crowds will be substantially lower than yesterday.

There is no mystery to it. The hard and fast data for several years shows that the higher the ticket prices the lower the crowds. Disney intentionally designed the system this way.

Tuesdays seem to be the new Monday which was the new Saturday. But the plus side is that weekends are a breeze now.

Weekdays are busier then Weekend....less people blocked out and tickets cost less plus people still have the old way of thinking that weekdays are slower but thats only true at parks like Six Flags and Universal not Disney any more
^^^All of this is very accurate. I've been visiting frequently this summer and the higher the day ticket prices, the lower the crowds, plus weekends have been very slow!

I know TP has flaws at DL, but their data collection of comparing historical wait times is still a good objective measure of crowds after the fact. They rated Tuesday as 10/10. Wed-Thurs were back below 5, where most of July has been. The difference? A $164 single day ticket price surrounded by other days at $180 or above. There are other factors too, but this was definitely a driver.
We usually stay off site but stayed at Pixar place and Monday-Friday was cheaper so that’s why we picked those dates. For sure checking crowd calendars from now on!

Other than the crowds, how was your trip? Did the gf who hadn't been to Disneyland in a long time have fun?
We had a great time!! Tuesday was a bit nuts crowd wise and we experienced 7 ride break downs while in line, which was a bummer. But we still got a lot done and had a blast. We made it to EE everyday too.

Thursday morning after park opening, there was also a lot of rides down. If I remember correctly it was Tiana’s, pirates, rise, Matterhorn and Mickey and Minnie’s all temporary closed at the same time. We decided to hop on the train. Lol.

We also did a lot of shopping since my son’s girlfriend was with us. I’m used to having boys who don’t care about shopping, so that was kinda fun! We took her on the tiki room, which she had never experienced and she loved it. We rode the mark twain. She went on Mr toad and storybookland canal boats, also two rides she had never been on.

We did a mix of table service and quick service. Ate at ballast point, splittsville, wine country trattoria, Riverbelle terrace, Rancho del zocalo, galactic grill (breakfast), red rose tavern (breakfast), earl of sandwich twice, tiendita, tropical hideaway, and the pool bar at Pixar place (that was one of our favorite meals).

Now I’m trying to catch up on sleep since we were up at 5:30 daily for EE and then out until 11ish or later every night! Lol. I love that when I asked my son’s girlfriend what her favorite part of the trip was, she said everything. Another fun trip in the books!!
