Why repeat visits to DisneyWorld?

I go between 4-6 times a year (sometimes with and sometimes without DS10) because WDW is my HAPPY PLACE!

Because we like it and don't want to go anywhere else right now. There will be plenty of time for skiing trips, beach vacations, and the carribbean when they are teenagers.

It's magical. I do go to other places too though, but I go to WDW at least once a year.

For me, it's an escape. Without boring you with the gory details, my childhood was rather unpleasant due to abuse and stuff. I get rather nervous doing new things, and the unknown. WDW is a safe place. I know what to expect. Due to DVC, I usually stay at the same resort.

That being said, it's never the same experience twice. We eat different places, take different tours, do something different and special each trip.

It's also an escape. In September 2003, my daughter was in an accident (someone ran a red light and hit her in an intersection). She was fine, but her car was totaled. While we were in WDW that same trip, our 74 truck was hit in front of our house and my 2000 Beetle was crunched while at the dealership for repairs. If I was at home, these incidents would have really upset me, three cars wrecked in less than a week! However, at WDW they didn't seem to have that much impact. No one was hurt, they are only material possession, and all will be fine. That's what Disney does for me. Takes me away, helps me keep my life in perspective, takes me to my happy place so I can enjoy the rest of my life. I can't imagine vacationing any where else.

We will be retirning and moving farther east in about 5 years, and may start adding other vacations spots when we do because we will be more financially stable. However, they won't be in place of Disney, just in addition to.

Disney truly is magical. We visited Chicago this last summer. We missed the transportation and having someone else take us every place. We went to our local amusement park, and we were lucky to get a smile from an employee. Disney does an awesome job of theming. Where our local park has grease to decorate, WDW goes out of their way so you only see the beautiful parts. There are so many secrets and so many new things to see it's like going someplace different everytime, but you're still in a familiar place. Last time my family went parasailing. We took a pontoon cruise. These were both new things and very exciting, but we still knew enough about the resort to get us around. We will definitely go different places in our lives. There may even be a time when we outgrow Disney - well the rest of the family might. I won't But, until then I'm going to enjoy the memories that we get to make. I'm going to enjoy going back and remembering when my 8 year old does something that she did when she was 3 and how much she enjoyed it or how scared she was. It's all about the memories.

Because going to DisneyWorld is like going home! We went three times this year, and we did not see it all or get tired of anything.

Yes, there is a whole big world out there to explore, and we do those vacations too, but going back to WDW is like a home coming.

We love going, as once you get there you don't have to go anywhere else to do anything you want to do. My family is all around the country and we meet there to spend time together with all the attractions and entertainment any of us could ever want. We're not beach people (can't handle the sun) and I'm not a big outdoors type - I can do a little of something, but no roughing it. Now our kids are small and they love it, so our trips are to do totally different things than we did before we had them. Plus, different times of year are different trips too. Food & Wine Festival, Christmas, Flower & Garden Festival - they are all wonderful and different.

What she said! I had been 15 times in 17 years and decided that wasn't enough so we moved here about 3 weeks ago.

I like the fact that the only decision I'll have to make is which park to go to. I like having all my meals made for me... a biggie when you're the cook in your home. I like the atmosphere that is Disney World whether it be the entertainment, the rides or just sitting next to the fountain at EPCOT.

I can be a kid again, I can relax but most of all I can play. Adults tend to forget how important it is to play. Disney World reminds you that it's necessary and it's fun.

Disney is Magical.....no matter how many times you go, you can't wait to go back. It is a vacation experience, and it is never the same twice. I go multiple times a year and it is still never enough. As soon as you drive through the arches onto Disney property it is one of the greatest feelings that you can experience. If you truly love Disney it is not a question of going to the "same old parks with the same old rides,"...Disney is a work in progress. You always see and feel something new. The weather is great, it is a safe self-contained environment for kids, it offers great entertainment, good restaurants, good friends, excellent shopping....and even more things that I could continue to list. If you have to ask the question "Why so many times?" then you just don't get it. I also have travelled all over the country, to the islands. etc. but Disney will always have a special place in my heart. I am in a "constant state of planning my next trip." Trips to Disney are like milestones in the life of a family...I will never forget my son's first trip and the great photos of him with the characters, and how he was eager to participate in every parade and every show. I will also never forget our first Atlanta Braves Spring training and the countless hours we spent to obtain autographs. Another special vacation was the Thanksgiving we spent down there that was coupled with my son's attendance at Ken Griffey Sr.'s baseball school at the Wide World of Sports. Each experience is unique and wonderful...so wonderful that I wanted to celebrate a special birthday of mine just this past Thanksgiving there, and it was a trip that I will always cherish. I went just with my son because my husband had to work, and it was magnificent. So I guess what I am trying to say is that Disney is always a new wonderful experience to those that truly love it. It returns me to the carefree times of my childhood when I couldn't wait for "The Wonderful World of Color" on a Sunday night or "The Mickey Mouse Club." Disney is timeless..it will never get old. I can't wait to experience it with my future grandchildren so that I can once again see the pure joy in their faces, just as I did with my son. To me, I would still take a vacation at WDW over any other place...because Disney is truly magical!!!!

My DH and I are not theme park people. It's probably why we love Disney so much. We love the feeling that we get every time we are there. To us, Disney is the fountain of youth, heaven on earth, and walking hand in hand with the ones you love. It's all about the feeling. It's about the music you hear when you enter MK or Epcot, the smell of Splash Mountain or AKL lobby, and eating dole whips and mickey bars. As much as I despise the crowds, I continuously feel refreshed, youthful, and calm when I return from a week in Disney. It is truly a magical place.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a family where my parents insisted on taking a grand vacation every year. Never do the same thing twice. We went to WDW summer or '72 and Disneyland summer of '76. I always wanted to go back to either Disney, but nope, why you've already been. As a result I've seen a great portion of the U.S. many islands, and numerous other countries. And I always wanted to go back to Disney. SO now that I'm adult most of my vacations have been to Disney. I hate to travel for business, I have been forced to go to England several times for work and have to be pushed out the door (nothing wrong with England, but I rather be home). But when there is a conference in Orlando, I am begging to go

I can't really put into words, it's just a feeling (a magical feeling some would say). Unfortunately I am not going this year as I planned (I did get to go twice this past year though) and I am devasted. My dogs have had some major vet bills this year and they do come first. Instead I will not take a vacation at all this coming year so I can save for another WDW in 2006. Sad part is I pretty much have it already planned out in my head.

We take several vacations every year-WDW is just one of our vacations. Now that we live 5 minutes away we really get to go a lot-and guess what-I still LOVE it We have been to Ireland, Spain, Punta Cana, Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Miami, Key West, Las Vegas, San Diego, New York, Maine, Vermont, Canada, St. Martin, the Bahamas, Connecticut, St. Louis, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, etc.. many more than once or twice. I go every year(once a year) because I love ti, and have always had a great vacation-always!
I do go to Hilton Head every year as well(we own BWV and HH DVC).
I do have plans to go other places, have been other places, but no matter where we go, DH and I always end up talking abotu hwo much better WDW is for us.

Around here people have shore houses and go every year to the Jersey Shore, year in year out, and I've never thought it odd.
If you love it, why not? The point of a vacation is too relax and have fun, doesn't matter to me if some people go to a different place every year or the same place every year, whatever works, as long as you get enjoyment out of it, that's all that matters.

For me, half of the fun is getting to revisit old favorites, kind of like watching the Wizard of Oz on TV each year. Plus, no matter how many times I go, there's always something new to see!

3rd trip coming up this year, you can see where I live. I love to see my kids enjoying themselves. That's reason enough. Many of us, know a lot about the parks that others may not. We may enjoy it more for what we know.

I've been lots of places, but I don't need to go listing them. Oh ok...since you did: Greece, England, Texas, Illinois, Michigan, Cancun, Acapulco, Freeport Bahamas, Montego Bay Jamaica, Ohio, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Arkansas, Puerta Vallarta....I could go on but why bother.

You either "get" Disney, or you don't. It sounds like you don't.

Like everyone else who LOVES Disney has said... It's the Magic! I went to Disneyland as a child several times, and it was fun...but not til I was a grown up, a mom did I experience the Magic WDW had to offer! My second trip to WDW was less than 1 yr after my first...and I'll be going again in the next couple months (hoping for Feb). To see Main Street, the castle, and my kids pure joy makes my heart smile. And it's cool to know I'm having just as much fun as them!!!
