Why do the Girl Scouts sell their cookies right after the holidays???? I just start my healthy eating plan at the beginning of the New Year and here comes the cute little Girl Scout with her yummy cookies!!!! ARGH!!!

I do have to give myself an at-a-girl....as I was salivating over the thin mints and tagalongs I realized if I bought the cookies, even though I was going to buy them for DH and DS that I would ultimately eat them...so I resisted!!! Instead I gave them a donation in the amout I would have spent on cookies and now I do not have to be tempted in my home to eat these yummy delights!

I ordered $28 worth of them today. I can't wait until the order comes in. I got 2 Samoas, 2 Do-Si-Dos, 2 Thin Mints and 2 Tag-a-longs. :)

Way to go! :worship:

they don't sell them here until the fall, when all those new year's resolutions have fallen away.....

I'm sure you made the girl scout very happy...$$ AND she has more to sell.
You're not telling your DH & DS are you? Mine would be very sad if the Tagalongs did not come home...

You could move to Maryland.

Our cookie selling was in September.

It's over! It's over!! :cool1: :cool1:

It's a big conspiracy. I know it. You know it. They know it. Just be strong. Together we will be the resistance. We will fight those evil Thin Mints. They will not win!!! Uhhh...ahem. Sorry. Guess I got a little carried away there. :goodvibes

Now excuse me while I go call my local girl scout...no....I mean my husband. That's it. I have to go call my husband. Cause he's at work. And that's what we do. We call each other. Okay. Bye now. ;) :rolleyes1

Funny you should say that....I was thinking tonight as I was making dinner that I will never tell them! They won't miss what they don't see. (I hope.)

I WILL BE STRONG! (I hope)!

Half the people I sold to said " oh and i just started my diet'....But then I tell them "well they wont be in until March" then they all say "well I will be off it by then anyway!"
Last year in daisys my daughter didn't start selling until March so it was easier since everyone was off their diets by then!

Our troop is doing the cookie share project this year. I am so happy about it. When people place their orders our girls ask if they would like to buy boxes that we are going to deliver to the Ronald McDonald house. I usually buy a lot from my daughter. I will do the same this year, but only two of them will be for our house and the rest will go towards the RMH. I wish we would have done this in previous years.

Ours are sold in the fall, mine were bought and gone way before the holidays even started.

I've only lived in places when they come out in Feb. Just when I'm weak and ready to cave! Spend all Jan. losing a whopping 5-6 pounds only for Feb. to roll around and spend a few hours alone with my Girl Scout cookie order for the 5-6lbs to reappear! :rotfl2:

I think the bakery has to stagger its baking - can't make cookies for half the country all at once! I alwys wondered if it was because the chocolate would melt in the summer; it keeps much better in the winter. We are doing a service project for US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, so when someone says they don't want to eat them, DD tells them they can donate a box. It is working quite well.

I'm surprised, Aprilgail2, that your daisy was selling anything. Around here they are not allowed to sell.

I go to the intro meeting for cookie chairs this Thursday. I didn't realize that other Girl Scouts were selling already. How much are they in your area?

We just started selling on Saturday. Its our first year selling. Last yr my daughter was in Daisys, they told us Daisys were not allowed to sell anything :confused3 This yr she is a brownie, and is very happy to sell cookies. Most people we know buy some. I dont like going door to door. We only ask people we know, friends/neighbors we are friendly with. The troop leader would like us to sell 100 boxes. We are only at 45, and dont see it going up much more .

I got the knock on the door Sunday. I ordered..........ah hem.......$35 worth at my house. We love Girl Scout cookies. I do plan to make those boxes last a while............I hope to................we'll see. :scratchin
