Why POP?

We stayed at ASMU, we are staying at AS Sports this year. I really like the all stars... ASMU had great bus service, decent food court, like all the theming of the values in general. I really thought the bus service was fantastic...never waited for more than 5-10 minutes. I also know that ASMU and AS Sports were recently remodeled- loved our remodeled room.

I see that lots of people like POP. What is it about POP that you like more? Has POP been recently remodeled?

We want to book for Sept 2009, and I am considering POP since it seems to get such great reviews. I just don't want to regret it!

We love Pop, but have never stayed at the All Stars, so I can't compare the two directly. Pop is relatively new, so I don't think there has been any remodeling yet. We have stayed at moderates and deluxes and have generally enjoyed everywhere we stay, but for a quick trip with just DD13 and myself, we just love Pop. The transportation is excellent -- the best of all the resorts at which we've stayed. There is one set of bus stops for the whole Classic years side of the resort -- no other stops (yea!). I also like the queing lines for the bus stops; it's so fair. For DD, another selling point is the slushies available on the drink island. We've had really good housekeeping service and all of the CMs we've encountered there have been friendly and outgoing. We will be back for our 4th stay at Pop in August.

I think that if you find someplace you like, there is nothing wrong with doing it over and over (and over).

Pop is just fun. stayed at all the values. also like movies for fun.

jazz is nice - probably more adult than what I want at Disney.

also depends upon your age if you born in the 50's or 60's - then it is I remember this, and this, and this....

the 70's, 80's, and 90's too.

if is more a remembering place.

also big lake lover. Pop is the only value resort with a lake.

some others like it because you can walk over to WWoS - now there is NOT a walkway - but kids still do it. So watch for them.

love the frozen cokes.

at this resort always get a refillable mug. the food court is on the way to the buses.

My favorite is POP. The buses do not share with other values which makes it quicker. I thought ASmu was boring (so did my 5 year old), ASsp was cool, and ASmo was the kids favorite. I agree with spicecat that POP is a memory sparker. I also feel that the all stars can feel crowded since you have 3 hotel all together.

How far/long is the walk from POP to WWoS. I know when I had my car it was a quick ride. The other times I was picked up.

Pop is no better than the All Stars.
The All Stars are no better than Pop.

Each resort has its own personality. We like all of the values for different reasons - the icons, the pools, the food courts, the buses are no better when comparing one to the other, but they are different.

So - to answer your question - you'll have to try all of them!!!!!

I just got back from a stay at POP from May 9 - 14, 2008. It was a friend and I and we loved it. She has stayed at ASMovies as well, but I have not. She says that she still prefers ASMovies, because of the decor. ASMovies is a little more decoated for the kids. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I loved it, however we will be staying at ASMovies on our next trip in DEC 2008, so I will get to compare them after that. The only bus problem I noticed was that for the extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom, they did not have enough buses running and we waited in line for 45 minutes for a bus, but it seemed that all of the bus lines were long, so I think it was just that they did not expect the crowds that they had. I would def. stay there again.

Yes, there are queing lines at all of the Allstars. I like having these because it keeps everyone in an orderly line and people can't just walk up and board the bus before people that have been waiting. We saw this happen last year at SSR last year.

We stayed at Pop this year as our first value stay. Next time if we do value it would be ASMu. Pop was just too much everything for me. Except by the lake there wasn't anywhere that was peaceful or relaxing.

We picked Pop because it just looks like so much fun! DS (5) saw some pictures and got so excited, so we decided to go for it.

Another reason was the proximity to Epcot and DHS. We spend more time in that area than in AK. So that was a slight factor.

Pop is NEW, It has a bigger food court with a bigger selection of food for all types of people and tastes. It's is a spread out campus, but yet none of the buldings are really that far from another. It also has a great bus system.

Just an FYI:

Pop Century opened in 2003.
It is now almost 5 years old.

It also has 2,880 rooms.

10 buildings with 4 floors each.

Each All Star Resort has 1960 rooms.
10 buildings with 3 floors in each building.

Pop has 1 and one half times as many rooms as each All Star resort.
Therefore it needs a larger food court.

If was too much for you then the other values are going to be the same. The other 3 are so close to each other that you can actually go to one ofthe others faster than getting to your food court.

I like the service at POP and our rooms are always very clean..Anything that you need extra of they bring it to you ASAP, with out any problems....

I went to POP in 2006 with a close friend and am planning to return in 2009. We loved the atmosphere, the food court was great, the pool was fun and the price made it worth our while.

POP is fun. Great theme and my kids love the main pool. The food court has many choices to pick from. The only reason we're staying at ASMu this summer is to try a new resort and because we want to relax a little bit more...not that you can relax a lot at a a value...

December will be our 2nd trip to WDW with our kids. AND our 2nd stay at POP. We are bringing our nephews with us this time so instead of reserving a family suit at ASMU we reserved 2 adjoining rooms at POP. Why? 1. We love the convenience of the buses, POP does not share buses to the parks with any other resort, thus cutting down time getting to and from parks. MAJOR reason why we are coming back to POP. 2. The kids absolutely loved the larger than life icons of the decades, such as computer, big wheel, bowling pins, cell phone, rubik cube & many more....... plus we were in the 70s building last time we traveled and in the evening we could see a glimpse of the fire works from one of the evening shows (I forget which ones). 3. Service was outstanding.
4. Rooms were clean 5. It was noisey only once or twice but nothing to complain about.... Hope this helps you out.
