Why Online Check-In If You Still Need Access?

I have rang up reservations a few times for questions and each time they urge me to do online check-in. I do not have a MB. I need a room card. I have explained this and they still urge me to do online check-in. What is the purpose or advantage of online check-in if you need to go to the front desk anyhow to get room cards?

Online checkin takes care of many of the routine checkin tasks such as entering the credit card you'll use to guarantee charges and setting PINs for room charges, which speeds things up at the front desk when you go to pick up your room card. There's also a place to let them know roughly what time you expect to arrive, which helps them plan getting rooms ready.

Even before MBs, I liked doing online checkin because it meant I didn't have to hand my credit card to the front desk CM, and checkin went faster.

Do you have a smart phone with the MDE app? If so, you can get notified that your room is ready as well s use your phone as a ”key”. Then you could get settled into your room and head to front desk when more convenient for you?

Online check in speeds up in person check in even if you want a room key. Disney pushes it so much because any time saved at the front desk is less time they have to pay toward staffing front desks.

If it’s not your thing don’t worry about it. The CMs are happy to check you in in person still.
