Monster Code doesn't cover my dates of 16-23. Hopefully Free Dining will be released soon. Last year it was toward the end of July. The sooner the better for being able to get reservation.

Labor Day is in September. Columbus Day is around October 12th.

We are going these same days and we got the Monster pin and I also wonder why this week is blacked out. Columbus Day is the week before so that shouldn't be why (that week is also blacked out). We are also hoping for FD!

Columbus day is Oct. 11, so that is one reason. Guess the bookings are up for that week. Disney does look at what is already booked before offering discounts, so no need to offer a discount when the resorts are already filled. (This is where the phrase, shooting yourself in the foot comes to mine when folks book a resort hoping to hold their spot to apply a discount later.)

Also, anyone booking free dining on Oct. 2 can carry it throughout their trip -- 10 or 14 days (can't remember what the cut off is) so FD can actually run to the 12th or 16th (depending which length of time is correct).

I feel your pain. We're planning on the 15th-24th, and there's nada for us. We're not that interested in free dining, but we'd love to get some sort of discount code. I'll give it another month and just keep hoping something good will come out.

We're going Oct. 11-17th, and the 20/30/40 pin that we received covers those dates. The CM who helped me said that that week is pretty booked up due to Columbus Day on the 11th, so I guess that must be part of the reason why the newer pin doesn't cover those dates. I guess I got lucky with the older pin!

School breaks, Canadian Thanksgiving, Columbus Day to name a few. We went last year during this week. The crowds were manageable but the weekends were pretty busy. Definitely make ADRs if you plan to go to any TS meals, especially in the Magic Kingdom. There were signs saying that there were no TS reservations for certain days, directing people to the CS.

What a bummer! We lost out on this too. I was so excited to get the 40% off code in the mail, which would have been perfect...and then it wasn't available for our dates. We are going Oct. 9-16 for my brother's wedding (he's getting married at the Poly)! Rats! I'm really hoping another good discount will come out!

I know it stinks, but it is good buisiness for Disney. All the dates that are blacked out revolve around holidays. Disney knows people will come during that time no matter what.
Stinks for us who want to travel during those times, however.
It is the same reason why the resorts and some restaurants cost more during peek and holiday times. That is the time of year when most people attend for various and a multitude of reasons. I am sure the hike in price and blackout dates also of set the money they lose during the "low" seasons and the people who use discounts during those "low" seasons.
