I was on ebay and saw a cricut expression for $145 ending in 3 minutes. I bid on it and was immed outbid by the computer. So I tried again and again I was outbid. Well, I got upset and figured I would drive up the price so they couldn't have it at $145 either. Next thing I know, I bid 172.00 and all the sudden I Was a winner! Oops. Oh well, I've wanted one but I planned to go black friday to walmart but I guess I got it cheaper and earlier! Plus it comes with 2 cartridges, mat, spatula tools, and free shipping.

I will take your advice to heart and think about you in the future when Im on Ebay.... I hate last min bidders!!!! Ive been know to use several profanities:mic::badpc: when i get outbid in the last second....

I just got mine today :) I bid on ebay on Sunday night! I got it for $174--mat, vinyl, etching solution, the standard 2 carts, and a couple tools :) I'm so excited to try it out tomorrow--DH said I could go ahead and use it, since I was also planning on black Friday shopping. Gotta love the deals you can get on ebay ;)

You have to know the "real" retail price before you get into one of those wars:eek: One evening DH and I were going crazy trying to get a particular CD/DVD set and kept getting outbid. The next day we went to the mall and got exactly the same set for £10 less than our highest failed bid :earseek:

At least you finally got it at a decent price with all the extras!

Enjoy, now you can start "collecting" all the carts, they are very addicting!

I know they are addicting. I've spent the last 2 days bidding on the rock star princess cartridge. 8 mins left!

Got it! Major bidding war in the last 2 mins. Went from $22 to $42! At least that's still half price than at the store.

Watch for sales, or get on their mailing list, at www.customcrops.com

I know that some on this board have had issues with them, but I honestly am completely satisfied with their service and buy the majority of my Cricut "stuff" from them.

YEAH!!! I'm glad you finally got your big E! Now we just need to get together to learn them together! (Still figuring mine out!) BTW, Cricutmachine.com has those deals (like the carts for 19.95) pretty regularly so watch out for those great sales! I got my Rock Princess from them when they had it for 19.95.

Congrats on getting your E -- it's a lot of fun. And that sounds like a good price -- just beware that it's an addictive habit that ends up costing a lot more (and leaves you with the quandary of using up all those old stickers, stamps, etc. you already have!)

(Just a point of clarification -- it's not exactly "last minute" bidders -- you can put in an automatic bid for the highest amount you are willing to pay, and their computer program works it out in increments as other bids come in, so bidders don't have to be online at the final moment to see who is trying to outbid them at the last minute -- I've done that for auctions that were ending at a time when I couldn't be online. So, you have to do your homework and know how much you actually would be willing to spend -- and if you don't get it this time, maybe you will the next time you put in a bid or an auto-bid. I figured this out after being frustrated a couple of times by "last-minute" bids.).

On the cartridge though it truly was a last minute bidder going at it with me. Afterwards I was able to look at the list of what had just happened. We were both constantly upping our max bid. That's why it went up so high so fast! What upsets me is there was the exact same cartridge for $4 cheaper buy it now. Also the same cartridge in other auctions were going for 20, 26, 24, etc. That is another reason I believe it was a last min bidder. Who else except in the heat of the moment would go up to 42 when a buy it now option was for 38? :sad2: Yeah, next time I will let it go!
