Why not RCI Exchange?

Yes, KBC and yes, only a microwave for cooking, that's what the trip report said. We are giving it a try, I do think we will like it. The W/D were mentioned as being in the hall if I remember correctly.

We did not want to travel to Hawaii for only a week. We have no other timeshares and have done 2 Hawaiian cruises, so wanted to stay in 2 places.

Hope to see whales, & people say they are off the coast of Maui for sure!
They are during the season. KBC is a nice option, really the only one in RCI IMO. SOK not bad but I want to be closer in. II has RCI beat for Maui for sure. We too don't want to go for only a week, actually we wouldn't and I've recommended others not to where travel is more than from a gateway city. Our next trip is either 2 or 3 weeks, haven't decided yet.

Lots of great stuff to do on Maui -- whales or no whales. We really enjoyed the Haleakala bike tour and we also did a snorkel trip to Molokini.

The Haleakala bike companies take you to the top of the mountain before dawn so you can see the sun rise out of the Pacific and then you coast down the whole mountain. I think I only pedalled for about 50 feet near the bottom. Serious fun. I recommended it two years ago to a friend who works on a cruise ship and she did it and loved it.

The snorkel trip was amazing...even for those of us from Florida. Unbelievable variety and colors of tropical fish, right before your eyes. We also saw flying fish on the way out and back.

We did the Haleakala bike tour in 1991, and we have certificates to prove it! We are in the process of down sizing dramatically, and I came upon them just the other day! We snorkeled from Maui September 2015 when we were on a Hawaiian cruise, Vancouver to Honolulu with stops between. I do want to snorkel this time, I will look up Molokini.

There's no reason why not, but the 'Expert' advice that 'it's a bad way to use your points"

IMHO until the "experts" pay for my points and dues they don't get to decide how I use them :)

You're always welcome to do what you want with your points no matter how bad a choice it is.
