Why no True "Pizza Joints" at WDW?

How about a place that serves all types of Pizza from New York to Chicago style, to "Boardwalk Sicilian style", to a Wood-grill fired pizza,. Could make it like O'hana with the oven out in open around the tables. maybe put it at Downtown Disney, or better yet Close Atlantic Dance and put it over at the Boardwalk.

Good idea. But true "pizza joint" means different things to different people. I'll take almost any kind of pizza place I can find, but people from Chicago and New York are much more picky.

Call Disney execs and pitch your idea to them.

I love pizza and although I thought the WDW pizza was just ok, I would have loved some great quality pizza.

I agree with the OP completely. There really should be more pizza options at WDW. I don't think they'd be able to please every person who loves pizza (e.g., there is definitely a controversy over which Ray's in NYC makes the best "Ray's" pizza... even though I personally prefer John's down in the Village...anyway) but they could definitely make a better effort. I think a lot of people would enjoy a place where they could taste interpretations of pizza from various regions, baked different ways, etc., as long as the chefs at least tried to approach authenticity.

Oh well...it'll never happen. One could almost make the same argument for BBQ.

As a pizza junkie, I feel the same way. We usually order Giadarno's (sp?) for delivery while we're there so we can get our Chicago-style pizza fix (we go to NYC often). But, suprisingly enough, we were pleased with the delivery pizza at Pop Century on a last-minute trip two weeks ago. I was not expecting much AT ALL, but we were hungry after returning from a park. The meat pizza was tasty, and the crust was a relatively thick (I normally prefer cracker thin) whole-grain bread with plenty of flavor all by itself.

Not the best pizza every or even close, but I'd order it again, and that's saying a lot from this self-proclaimed pizza guru!

Hey, I sorta resemble your remark! Pizzafari gives me the heebiejeebies. However, even though I'm a Chicago pizza girl, I really enjoy those artisan flatbread pizzas they have at some of the restaurants.
