Why no suites for Dining Plan?

Does anyone know why no suites for the dining plan? I am booked in Boardwalk Villas 1 BR and thinking about downgrading to get free dining. I find it strange that they don't want me to spend $500 more for the bigger room...and will let me go down to get $400 worth of food - $900 less for them. Are they just trying to fill up the lower cost rooms?

I see you're talking about a DVC room...these aren't technically suites. They are called Home Away From Home resorts.

I don't know about the availability of free dining this year for HAFH rooms booked with cash through WDT, but it's been available in the past. It's possible there is just no further availability at BWV for the promotion.

If you booked through DVC (your own points or renting) you will not be able to participate in the promotion at all.

Free dining (and the dining plan in general) is primarily a hotel promotion, not a dining promotion. You will see a lot of questions like "Why don't they offer free DDP for a longer period?" or "Why don't they offer free DDP for Room Type A at Resort Z?"

The answer is they don't need to.

They are offering free DDP to very targeted audiences. They offered it to their UK customers, and to their "frequent flyers" through Bounce Back and both of those promotions were hugely successful. Now they're offering a very scaled-down free DDP to the general public -- limited numbers of rooms for a shortened time period (compared to last year). They don't need to do anything more.
