you get mugs for all parties in the counter service and the deluxe - why not the regular dining plan? anyone have any answers.

No answers there.

The regular plan hasn't ever included a mug.

I can't imagine they would want to promote you to downgrade from regular dining to counter service only........

But, I definately think it is a way to get people to upgrade to the deluxe plan!

To free up some space in the restaurants for those deluxe plan users.

I don't know why the mug isn't included in the basic dining plan, but it really irriates me that it isn't.

my take on it...
deluxe plan users won't really use it (they're too busy running from restaurant to restaurant) so it's a cheap "extra"...

counter-service plan users will use it, probably a lot, because they will be the one's using the foodcourt the most, so it's a great value added item to entice people to go w/the CS plan as opposed to no plan...

regular ddp users fall into neither category... they are middle of the roaders... looking for good value but not needing too much "extra"...

it's good marketing (wow! my family of four got an extra $50 worth of mugs in our dxddp!!!) or (wow! we can get unlimited drinks our entire trip! whatta bargain this CS plan is!)

thanks for all the opinions - it irrates me also not to get one on one plan, but they offer it on the others:confused3 . We used ours alot during our 2005 trip at AKL - it was so nice to be by the pool and just walk in a get a drink of whatever i wanted without having to bring money to the pool. My husband would get coffee, the kids would get soda, juice, milk. We still use them daily at home. It's like a little reminder every day.

Am I right in saying you can buy the mugs separately from the plan? It would prob be worth us doing that - any ideas how much?

Yes, you can buy them separately. I believe they were 12.99 when we were there in March.
