Why no later dinners at Tusker House?

I just called to get an ADR at Tusker House on 11/16 and the latest they're accepting ADR's for dinner is 3:45. Not that everything later is booked, but that's only what their system is letting them book to. AK is open that day until 6. I'd really like something between 5 and 6 because the parade starts at 3:45.

More than likely AK closes at 5 that night (not sure)...therefore the ADR would not go too late that night.

Keep trying back. I was trying for dinner in October and they could not book anything past 3:00 on the day I wanted. I changed and booked Boma then several weeks later I just happed to ask about Tusker House again. They had opened it up and now I have a 4:50 pm (restaurant closing at 5:00 when park is open until 7:00). Good Luck!!

I am not an expert on this, but I have a thought about that.

Generally other parks will book ADR's up until 5 minutes before closing. They know full well that diners will be there long after the park closing.

Animal Kingdom closes, they say, for the animals. If they allow people to stay long after park closing they may be adversely affecting the animals somehow?

Like I said, I am no expert, just sharing a thought of why they may not want diners there after park closing.

But I originally had an ADR for Friday the 14th at 5 at Tusker House and AK closes at 5 that day. They close at 6 on the 16th when the latest ADR would be for lunch at 3:45. I want to change dates for AK because we were originally going to DHS on the 16th until I found out that that is Super Soaps Weekend. I did call back and changed the ADR to lunch at 1 so we could see the parade that starts at 3:45. I might try Saturday though for Tusker House and see if I can get dinner, provided we can get an ADR then for Garden Grill on Sunday. And I thought I had all my ADR's set!

Hmmm, well that kills that theory of mine.

Then my guess is that there may be a special event/private party planned?

Well, I called and changed a few other things around. I changed Tusker House to 5:30 on Saturday (park closes at 6), moved Garden Grill from Sat. to Sunday, and moved 50's PTC from Sunday to Friday. The CM didn't know why they weren't offering dinner at Tusker House on Sunday, but I was pleased that I could move my other reservations around.

The only thing I'm trying to get is a Fantasmic package instead of 50's PTC (they did have Brown Derby available but I don't know if I want to use 2 TS credits), and I have an ADR at 1900 PF at 7:15 on Monday night that I would like to get around 5 or 6. I'll keep trying.
