A friend of mine is interested in a BWV resale. She really liked that location when she vacationed with us last year. I told her I'd do a little research, but when I clicked on the DVC resale link I couldn't find any listed. Am I looking in the wrong place, or what? Thanks!

Can't answer why there isn't any current resales, but have you called DVC to check their inventory on BWV ownership? Although it wasn't our experience last fall for an add-on, others on this board have recently indicated there are points available through DVC for some BWV use years. Good luck.

I got 200 pts BWV thru Disney on June 11

I don't know why I thought BWV was sold out :confused3

I thought BWV was sold out

Well, it is as far as buying direct from Disney (unless you're a DVC member, then you maybe able to buy an add-on @ BWV directly from Disney).

I thought that your OP was asking about Resale. (secondary market)
I have to guess it's short supply due to demand for it, and an active ROFR levels by Disney.

I am a first time buyer. Disney had a lot of resales available June 11th.

Disney WILL sell points at sold out resorts...they just don't "advertise" that they do so. A non-DVC member can get on the waitlist for sold out resorts just like a DVC member can.

I heard that DVC has some BWV points sitting in their account right now. Anyone can buy those...member or non. And, if there are none available, just get on the waitlist and they will come in soon.

I'm not sure why there are so few BWV resales right now. A few months ago, there were more BWV resales listed than there were OKW ones. I think maybe because people have vacations planned with their points (esp. during the fall at BWV/BCV because of the food & wine festival). And, people cannot close on selling their contracts until their reservations are gone. I know my mom is planning on selling her VWL contract, but she has ressies on it at the BWV in Oct., so she is waiting to list it. I'm sure others are in the same place.

Also, with the standard view option....BWV is VERY popular...and, for some reason seems to be experiencing a "surge" in popularity. DVC has been ROFR'ing BWV resales at higher and higher prices.

I just called my guide this afternoon to add points at BWV. She said there were points available, but she wasn't sure if my UY was. It'll take a couple days to find out.

Last year when we initially bought DVC we were offered BWV. The only stipulation is a first time buyer must buy 150 or more points.

It must be that BWV owners love it so much, they don't want to sell. ;) :goodvibes

It might be a seasonal thing. Most owners who plan on selling probably will take their one last trip home during summer and unload once the kids go back to school. You probably see quite a few stripped BWV contracts in late August or in September.

BWV is not a good resort...the rooms are too small, the hallways too long, the noise level too high, the parking too far, the clown too scary...I would encourage anyone interested in staying at the BWV to get reservations elsewhere...

They have one listing up today, 180 pts @ $82 a pt.

Wow. I feel like we got a bargain when we bought ours at $80 a pt this past March! :earseek:

location location location...Boardwalk is without equal :) :) :) Quiet pool is the best spot in the world

I just bought ours direct thru Disney. One for 150 pts and another for 60 pts. Both at BWV. The ink is probably not even dry from my first purchases and I am ready to add on 90 pts! This DVC could be a bad thing! :teeth:

I have seen quite a few BWV resales at various different resale stores. I'd have to go back thru my list of resale websites and find them again, but if anyone wants to know where they are, PM me and I'll send you the links.

Take this poster's advice..... :rolleyes1 More Standard view rooms for ME ME ME!! :smooth:

Try calling a broker and getting on there watch list. A good broker will have a book of people interested and is likely to sell a property before it gets listed on their web page. A little patience goes a long way to getting what you want.

We had good luck with the Timeshare Store finding us BWV points when we needed more. It can't hurt and if nothing comes of it no loss. On the other hand if they find you a contract that fits it is gonna be cheaper than Mr. Mouse.

Oh and for the more standard view for me plan, I like the sound of that but it is a zero sum game. There are a fixed number of points and somebody is gonna use'm.

PKS44 After 1277 posts you still have not learned that it isn't nice to speak this way about another's home resort??
