Why Make An Appointment?

Does anyone keep appointments anymore???

A few months ago I had a house appraiser coming out at 12:00. Instead he decided to show up at 10:00. Today we had an appointment at 10:00 for the oil guy to come. He showed up at 9:00 and no one was here. Its now 10:15 and I have no idea if hes coming back or not. Recently I had to go sit at my parents house for an oil man to come between 12:00-3:00. He ended up coming about 5:45!

Does anyone else have this luck or is it just me?

I would LOVE for people to show up early for a appointment.
Ours are usually 3 hours late....

LOL! Usually early is good for me but the 2 times its happend, its backfired. I wasnt here today, and the other time I had planned to clean the house before the guy came. I was so embarrassed that he had to walk through every room and see the disaster.

It's happened a lot to me lately. Our house was struck by lightning in early August, and we suffered some damage from the recent hurricane, so I've been having lots of service calls.

I've only had one that was early. Our insurance adjuster was scheduled to come over yesterday at noon. I had planned to take the kids to early church service (DH is out of town), so that we could all be back in time for the call. Long story short, we slept in late, so I just kind of hung around. Lucky I did, because he came at 10! We wouldn't have been home from the service yet, and I did need to talk face to face (which he knew).

Don't get me started on the directv guys who are ALWAYS really late!

I can't tell if the problems are because they don't estimate the travel time well, or if they're overbooked or if they just really don't care, but it is pretty annoying! When you take time off work (and it is usually a 1/2 day since they won't specify time), and the people aren't prompt and don't call to let you know, it's just hard to work with.

I know what you mean ~ very few people keep to their appointment schedules now.
