just wondering
Why don't OPs put pricing and wants and needs when asking for hotel advice?

I see a lot of what is the best 'item' for us. With little or no information of what is important to them. I just want to know why this happens?

Because Disney can be so completely overwhelming to plan .... travel to get there, hotels, dining, tickets, hours, shuttles ..... further overwhelmed by thoughts of what to pack, souvenirs, extra events ....

It's hard to even know where to start, so if this isn't a natural trip to plan for someone, or they've never been to Orlando or traveled for something as complex and expensive as Disney ............. sometimes they don't know what to ask.

Coming here is a great first step, and I think it's on us regulars to then ask them the questions they need to think about so we can get them to the next level. It's not helpful for their planning to make assumptions on what they want or question their question. I'd rather just try to help them.

This is perfectly said. The amount of info on these boards can also be overwhelming. Hopefully a few helpful answers, even to simple questions, will get people thinking and planning.

Some people don't have pricing and wants and needs when asking. Most who do not include those things are just wondering what others think of as "best"? The answer could be a high end resort or a smaller less expensive option. It's a way to get the "lay-of-the-land".

I'm considering an off site stay and am open to hotels of different price ranges and don't personally have specific wants and needs. I'd love to just know what hotels are the fav's of knowledgeable or opinionated people.
