Why Lime Green?

My dd asked me this question last night and I didn't have an answer. I just told her "An explanation isn't always necessary." She gets that answer alot.

Anyhow, it started me thinking.... does anyone know why it's lime green?

This is too weird, I was wondering that same thing this morning in the shower. (I do my best thinking in the shower!)

I was going to try a search, but didn't get around to it yet. So, all you DIS Vets -- What's the scoop?

I think it's because lime green is a brighter color that would stand out. I'm not really sure though,anyone have more information?

I would like to know this too!!! I am getting some lime green mickey's to put mine and DH's DISboard names on them and having them laminated.....we will either put them on our room door or something.....anyone have any good ideas to do with the mickey's???

I remember reading that it was chosen because it is Tinkerbelle's color and, before this year when lime green became fashionable, the color really stood out.

We were at WDW in July and everybody had lime green on. Maybe next year when some other color is "in", we'll stand out again!

Not everybody has LGMHPC thats where the regular disney goers are seperated from the real DISers. I hope another color becomes the "in color" too!

I love the Lime (Alien) Green. It looks good on DISboys and DISgirls as well. It does stand out. I'm having anxiety about it though. What if I go through all the effort to put the lime mickeys on everything and get NO ONE from DIS to participate? We are not at all scarry and I'm pretty sure we "look approachable", but still. I will be looking! (and I'll be LOOKing for you Sneezie!)

Hey Sneezie I had to try to explain this to hubby about 10 years ago when I tied green ribbons to everything that stood still Luggage, backpacks, daughter's hair, stroller handles heck even our youngest back so she would leave it there.

Pure and simple reason: It was long ago established as the "official" colour of DIS used to recognize each other! Now it has spread to the cute little paint chip since they are readily available (if you are really sneaky and have a family member who is willing to play look out you can get lots) it is even easier to do since peeps have their eyes open for them. Also it gives the crafty one in the bunch ways to kill time while waiting for trip time!

When I was obsessed with chatting as I am with DIS now I always used lime green to chat in... nobody used lime green, and they always knew it was me as soon as the lime apeared on screen.

But honestly lime green shirts on fat people (my dh and I) .... not a good mix!
