why isolate certain subjects...........

This thread is hilarious!

Rainbow Brite 1985, my then 5 year old daughter in the costume I made for her. Yes this dates me!

I am just loving this thread.

And it raises an interesting question that I have never understood. Why is the Pool Hoping and especially Mug refilling debate such a hot issue?

I can understand why a person would want to hop around and swim in other pools. I can understand why a person would want to save a little money by reusing their Mug.

And I can understand that someone else thinks that is it not proper to pool hop. And that someone else thinks it not ethical to reuse a Mug.

But what I don't understand, is why people are so passionate about it? Really, at the end of the day, these are Disney's issues. And while I am sure they are not found of them, I am also sure that it is not really a top priority. For the amount of people that actually do either, it really does not affect other people very much.

So why get so hot and bothered by it? Why would you Yell at another person, or call someone names who did it? Why get personally offended on something that doesn't affect you?

It isn't the hot issue today:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2534357 popcorn::

To answer your question, I don't understand it either. If someone chooses to break those 2 rules then it is up to Disney to police that, not me. My time is better spent enjoying my vacation.

Welcome home Bill! See what you missed while you were on the road!

Thanks Mike! :goodvibes

Who knew that the long awaited "Alpaca vs. Llama" thread would break out while we were on the road. :confused3 I probably spotted some on the several farms we passed on the way home. :)

I am now trying to determine if Kathy's alpaca farm will be upwind or downwind from our house?

I think people get worked up mostly about the ethics and morality issues, but I can see why the pool issue can be an issue that can affect guests directly. Too many people were using Stormalong Bay at the Yacht/Beach Club as a public pool for a break. Some were guests at other resorts, but some were day guests who weren't staying at Disney at all. It made it difficult for paying guests to enjoy their own pool, so Disney installed a fence late 1996 / early 1997. (I saw the fence pieces when I stayed at YC in Nov 96, but I don't know when they were installed.)

The mug issue always baffled me. That's definitely an ethics/morality debate I'd rather stay far away from. I can see logic on both sides of the issue because it's very contradictory all around. I'd rather just not buy or use mugs anymore.

sorry, let me explain.........the questions the poster asked encompasses all of the different opinions that come up when a mug post goes.....well.......postal. it is ok....it is not ok..i am just trying to save some money....well its like stealing. etc, etc, etc. so in effect it was a mug thread in microcosm. with the same result, which is :confused3

Is llama vs. alpaca the new cake vs. pie?

Discuss.

I find llama has too strong a taste and I prefer alpaca ;)

Ask Kathy, she is going to be an Alpaca Rancher.

Or at least the wife of an Alpaca rancher. Now DH is studying the real estate listings in our area to find a home with enough acreage to support a small herd... existing barns are a plus.
