Why isn't my cuttlebug cutting?

My plate bows after many, many cuts (when the plate is covered in cuts). I think if your plate is bowing after one cut then you should call the company and ask their advice. And you shouldn't have to push that much, I remember when I first got mine it felt weird the first few times, tight, and made that crackling noise -- but no bowing and no wall support.

Good Luck -- call the company and get a new machine and then you can start having fun!!!!

I took the machine back to Michaels and exchanged it for a new one. OMG the difference! Mine was seriously messed up if this is the way it is meant to work! It took the stamp die through SO easily. The giant new die I did have to crank hard but I didn't really have to push at all. Thanks for the advice - my original machine was totally spazzed out!

Now the real fun begins!!!! You need to get more dies and embossing folders! There was a thread a bit ago on Big Lots having a pile of $2 dies. Ours only have a few left -- but you never know! And I have seen the alphabets going real low at JoAnns. And sizzix.com has great items on clearance and on Tuesday they do special markdowns. (most of their products work in the cuttlebug -- just be careful of the long dies that need a special platform) I have also had good luck at scrapbook "garage sales".

Have fun!

LOL you are quite the enabler. I already have about 10 embossing folders. I was using them through my pasta press that I use for clay... and it worked but wasn't ideal. So I wanted something to emboss better. I wasn't necessarily looking for a cutter but figured I should spring for the Cuttlebug over the Texture Boutique - so that the tool did a bit more. I do have a Cricut expression and use that for cutting a lot but the die + emboss sets are SO cute! I looked at my big lots some time ago but didn't see ANY dies - but maybe I eventually will! :) Do yuo ever find anything at Tuesday Morning?

Oh I do some damage at Tuesday Morning! Just last week I got lots of cool glitter. But I have never seen Cuttlebug stuff there. Although we don't have a Tuesday Morning in town so I don't get there as often as I would like (which probably makes my husband happy :rolleyes1)

Oh My Crafts has some great Cuttlebug stuff on clearance. I got a 3 pack of alphabets for $24.99 and lots of dies and embossing folders for less than $2 each. They have pretty good coupon codes, too- usually for 20% off or for free shipping.
