We just booked our first cruise using points and cash on sat for oct. We decided to add the cruise to our trip while in wdw, so we used our already borrowed points.

Then we looked at the options and decided to use the DCL transfer service to the port and back even though it is expensive.

When i called sunday to add it on, it was 70 per person to have it round trip, but on the website with DCL, its only 69 per person. Just wondering if anyone knows why dvc charges the extra dollar per person? we needed it for 4 of us, so it was $280! a car shuttle would have been just as much with tip, thats why we went with disney on this.

It is not a DVC thing. I've called to add one-way transfers to existing reservations made directly through DCL and was charged $35 per person every time. I'm not sure why there's a difference. Maybe the $69 is only available if you purchase the transfers at the same time you book the cruise.

nope, even before i booked the cruise, i asked how much the RT was and they said 70 per person, 35 for one way, then we looked around for other trans, and went with disney instead at the 70 per person price, yet the dcl webite charges 69 each if i want it, even if i call later to add on, but since this is now a dvc reservation, i had to go through dvc to add it on, which makes no sense since all they do is put me on hold while they cal dcl to add it then come back to me to tell me its now added:confused3 it is 35 one way from dcl directly, but they charge 69 for a rt??

I was guessing that the $69 is only available at the time you book the cruise if you do so through DCL. I have had reservations that I booked directly through DCL and added on transfers later and was charged $35 per person. DVC was never involved.

I called DCL to get the price and was told $70.00. Not sure where the $1.00 difference comes from.
We will be renting a car one way to port $65.xx then renting another car from port to MCO $70.xx. There are also 4 of us so I figure we are saving $145.00.

Maybe the DCL website simply hasn't been updated, and they are in no hurry to do so for $1.

You can get a minivan transfer from Happy Limo for about $270 + a tip...maybe a little less with a disc. code from Small World. For the convenience I'd just do that! Door to door for the same money and you can arrange to get to the port earlier (ie board earler)!! Can't beat that! Plus if you use them round trip you can get a grocery stop on the way to the port to pick up water or other adult beverages.:thumbsup2 For the price I'd book a car service!!
