Why is this happening to me? LOL

Ok so now I am really frustrated! i have been trying to convince DH that we must go to DL sometime during the xmas holiday this year. I even promised to not even think about another vacation for along time if we are able to go! Sooo last night he agreed we would go Nov 19-22. Which i am still negotiating because I want to go from the 18-22... But anyways- life seems to be throwing me some curved balls lately- financially because today- MY FRACKING WASHER BROKE!
I have been saving up all kinds of money just to make extra money for a super tight budget. I have even been selling stuff on Craiglist! LOL.
Last year- I tried to take the family to DL at xmas time- and my Suburban blew an engine on Christmas Day!! I feel like I am being cursed!
A few weeks ago ... our money issue was not so bad and when I went to the mailbox- what did I see? A DL PINcode... I jumped for joy! It was a great day! I never have stayed at the hotel resort before- and thought this was the perfect time. And then it happened... all of a sudden I lost a chunk of money from our business which hurt. And now my washer is broken! So I thought- ok- well we could save money by staying at the Fairfield, thats better then not going at all. But a bit of my magical dream holiday is a tad bit gone. I hate getting all worked up for a trip and then bad things happen!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. You will still have a great time staying at FFI! Don't worry about losing some of the magic. It's still going to be magical no matter where you stay. The magic is in just being there and being able to take in the ambiance of the park and attractions and being with your loved ones.

I just got off the phone with mom- and she said to go take measurements of the laundry room!! I said no- but she kept insisting so yays!!!
so now- the DLH is still an option- but after looking at the Fairfield- the savings are almost $400!! I could do soo much with $400- like SOUVENIERS AND BALLOONS! Or I could pay my mom back....

Have you ever stayed at FFI before? I have and I thought it was a very good hotel for the price, amenities and location. I'd take the $400 and apply to something else (like souvenirs or paying back your mom).

I feel your pain. We had a trip to Europe planned for next summer. We took a very inexpensive trip to the Texas coast (about 4 ours away and at my parent's timeshare) this summer and no Disney trip to help save money. We were right on track and then the dryer broke. The dog became alergic to her sutures after getting fixed AND THEN our house's a/c went out and had to be replaced!!!!! All in 2 weeks time!!!! Well there went Europe for another 2 years!!! But we decided that we needed a vacation and not just the cheap get away we took this summer. So here we are planning a DL trip for your time- November 18th- 23rd. And thankd to the offer we are at Disneyland Hotel!! I have been scouting airfare and we are actually flying one way in on American and one way out on Southwest as it was cheaper.
You can make this work. It doesn;t have to be the top of the line trip to be fun. And once you get there and see the awesome decorations, the "spriit" will take over!!!

I feel your pain...last Wednesday the bad news started with receiving our property tax notice and our taxes went from $1300 to almost $3100! Then, DD fell off her bike and broke her elbow that night and had to have surgery the next morning. We have insurance, but will be responsible for several thousands of it still.

That night on the way to the ER, my car was smoking, turns out it was something with the transmission. That same night when we got transferred to the children's hospital, DH went home and swapped out cars, only to find HIS car would barely start (we just put 1000 into his car the weekend before). He made it to the hospital, but sure enough, the next morning it wouldn't start. This trouble all began on the SAME DAY -- I just couldn't believe it.

The good news is, DH just needed a new battery (which was replaced for free because it was so new), my car only cost 100 deductible because it was still under warranty and best of all....DD is ok now!

Wow! Ballarinamom and Kayla's mom, that is some awful bad luck!!!
I feel really bad for what you just went thru- I couldn't imagine! I am happy that DS is doing much better! The only other bad thing that has happened to me is in August my computer caught a very serious virus- and can not be fixed. So I am stuck using DH's. We found a really good one at Costco for $400. Comes with mouse, screen, and keyboard! I told DH- I can do without a computer right now- I can wait until after my dL trip is over, and Christmas is done... so prolly wont get one till Jan! LOL
And the only other bad thing is last month- someone broke into our crappy 92 Honda- the broke out the tiny window in the backseat- and attempted to steal the radio- only to find out it wasn't worth anything and they put it back! Now everytime we go over a bump- the radio falls out of the socket! LOL.

i can not wait to go to Disneyland and see these xmas decorations! I can not wait!!!! It is going to be awesome! And thanks for your review Disneysuitefreak on those Fairfield pics! It looks like a great room! maybe I might splurge a little and have the room decorated with balloons from that balloon place, what's it called? F2 or something? That would be cute! Something simple with just a room filled with Red, and Green balloons!
