Why is the 'package' so much more money?

I would add the gate prices which in my experience is what you are charged when you buy the package in advance:

DLR Gate Price 151 / 204 / 249

Thus if you buy 5 day tix from GAT as opposed to the DLR package your tix are $50 less per person.

If you buy from GAT are there any hidden fees? How do they work? I bought my latest from the Disney site and it was super easy to take the paper to the turnstiles and poof...it transformed into a ticket. We have APs now and may renew, but are taking a son and his family next Oct and would like to find the best deal if the GAT tix are as easy to use as the Disney ones.

PS..and watch them if you upgrade to an AP..the guy that did us was trying to only give us credit for a SoCa pass..I don't know why, since I thought they scanned the ticket or something to find out what we'd paid, but once we figured out what was going on, the price was much better!
