Right now we're controlling close to 75% of Iraq, we've been at war for 9 days & have lost a total of 15 American troops in combat (7 of which were killed during the fake surrender ploy) & I wouldn't be surprised if we're in Baghdad in a week or two. Yet a lot of the media is acting like this is almost a disaster.
To give you an idea of how we're doing - the first Gulf War consisted of 100 hours of bombing then another 6 weeks of ground wars & we had around 300 American casualties.
I think the media may have thought this would be a weekend job, but those in the White House knew this would take some time. I think all things considered, such as our commitment to their civilians (even at a detrement to our own soldiers' safety) & Saddam's exploitation of that commitment, I think we're doing pretty darn well.
