That's a good point. I do think it's money, but this might be part of it too since it aligns. In addition to money, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney doesn't want monorail guests to see into the gaping hole of construction going on in the middle of the park. It's probably not a reason to not run the monorail, but an unexpected perk. You know how much they try to hid everything that isn't "magical."
I don't buy the construction excuse. They've never cared about that in the past and I don't see a compelling reason why they'd start now. There isn't too much new going on now that you can't already get a decent peek at from within the park.
I find the low staffing and reduced park hopping much more compelling reasons.
Well it ran all the time when Epcot was 1/2 torn apart. I don’t think since the other half of Innoventions is now gone they don’t want people to see. It seems almost everything is staffing issues. I guess they should have laid off as many people as they did.In addition to money, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney doesn't want monorail guests to see into the gaping hole of construction going on in the middle of the park. Anyone else getting tried of hearing this excuse? It's a money saving decision.
Cause they can...just honestly; they don't have to spend money on it and they've found that hey ppl. still come regardless...just one of the many things they've decided to do or not do for $$$.So now that resorts are reopening and we are ‘filling in all available space’ why is the Epcot monorail still closed? I had thought it was because of social distance but why is it still not running?
yes becuse it's one that poeple have been using for servel years now becuse they don't want to look at other reeasons for things. For example off kilter left world ishowcase it was a cost savings and if you looked into it the band actully didn't want to perform anymore as they wanted to play at other locations and whn they di they had to pay for a replacmet cast to take their place. A podcast about Animal kingdom likes to talk about how aband that they used to watch isn't ther anymore becuse of budget cuts however on a recet podcast they mentioned something about the laeder of that band recently putting out an album which sudgests to me that they many not have renewd the contract so that they could fous on that.Anyone else getting tried of hearing this excuse?

I wouldn't say change of heart but I would say that some of them wanted to do something besides play in a theme park every day of the week.So all of the epcot entertainment losses at the same time were all attributed to the performers having a change of heart?
Very good point. The same thing gets said here in Toronto every time it gets brought up that we should replace our streetcars with buses, our current ones hold about 3 bus loads of people so to replace one you need at least 3 buses plus 3 drivers where as 1 streetcar only has one driver on board. To say the Monorail is not running is to save money does not pass closer inspection. It is cheaper to run the Monorail than to have buses, gas, bus maintenance, and bus driver salaries. Like every thing else, Disney will reopen in THEIR time table.
