Why is the concierge level at the Boardwlk resorts so much more than the Poly's CL?

I just wondered if the YC/BC/BWI offer more than the Poly at the concierge level?
I know we are paying about $100 more than a regular room rate to stay at Poly GVC but I noticed that YC CL is $150/night more that their standard room. Can anyone who has stayed at both tell me why there is such a price difference?

I haven't stayed at Poly concierge since I was child (it was King Kameamea Club), but we do stay concierge at the BWI. I know both offer the same services - itinerary planning, food, special assistance, etc. My only guess is that since each hotel (YC/BC/BWI) has fewer concierge rooms than the Poly, the rooms are more in demand, so the price is higher. Just a guess though.

I think it might be because of the location to Epcot and MGM although I also agree with Cinderella37. :D

Are you sure about that? We definitely paid more to stay at the Polynesian concierge than the BC, YC, or BWI concierge.

We're staying at the BC and Polynesian in early July, both in the same "season" and I don't have the confirmations right here for exact prices, but I'm SURE that the Polynesian is quite a bit more expensive.

When we priced the Visa 7/4--- Poly GV Conc. was $2900, YC was 3200. I was very surprised. A regular room at YC was a total of $45 less than the Poly GV. I think LVC at Poly was more than YC Concierge.

According to the WDW site, the following are rack rates for concierge (value season, 2004):

Polynesian:

Garden View $390
Lagoon View $470

BWI:

Standard $425
Deluxe $505

YC & BC:

Standard View $425
Water View $470

So actually, the Epcot resorts are more expensive when comparing standard concierge rooms and the same for Lagoon/Water view, except for the deluxe room only available at the BWI.

Cinderella37 must be right about the price being higher because there are less rooms at the Boardwalk Resorts?
Does anyone know if there is any other reason?
I was just surprised because the standard rooms at the Poly are higher than the YC etc. so I expected the CL to be less or at least the same at the Boardwalk Resorts.

This is very interesting. Are the Epcot resorts more expensive than MK resorts in general ??

I don't really understand why this is either.

But hey, $390 for concierge at the Poly (and at RACK RATE, no less) is pretty darn good!

BrianD - OT, but your "location" gave me a chuckle!

I thought maybe the difference was that at the Poly, you pay a higher price for LV, while at BWI you can get waterview or garden view for the same price with CL. But, YC has a higher price for a waterview, so I am still confused. The prices really are inconsistent, aren't they?!

Aren’t the rooms at the YC concierge suites or are there regular rooms on the concierge level?

Also if you check into the Polynesian on the 4th of July you will be paying regular season rates for your entire stay…GVC $440 and LVC $525. They changed the season by a day this year. Value season now starts on July 5th.

Aloha

Wow, that is a good price. Before I got the 7/5 deal, I was paying $535 (inc tax) per night, room only for CR concierge (value season).

Also a tip they are willing to do 2 seperate reservations- one running through the 5th then one starting that day until you leave. So you will pay a higher rate in the beginning but you will get the lower rate once you switch. You do run the risk of having to change rooms but in the 7 years we have been doing this we have never had to change rooms.

So good to hear from you!!!!!

I have stayed at the YC BC and poly concierges and the poly has way better food offerings but I liked the staff at the YC the best.

I didn't this was true anymore. I'm pretty sure Disney is charging by the day from now on.
