Why Is Pop Century As Good As The Mods and Deluxes?

another good thign about Pop is the no-sharing of buses!!! We really enjoyed that aspect of AKL!!!

For me, what sets PC apart from the All Star resorts is that it doesn't feel as frenetic, tacky, or as family-packed. It seems a bit more relaxed and DEFINITELY a place tailored more for adults without kids than All STars are.

The whole idea behind the resort--- nostalgia-- is something adults will really enjoy (though kids like the huge icons too!)

The food court is MUCH more intimate and nicer than the food courts at All Stars, just because of the way it's arranged into small sections.

There's an indoor bar/lounge here, which I think is a very nice touch, and something that the All Stars don't have.

The transportation seems more "exlusive" because it doesn't share with any other resorts.

Yes, the rooms are small, but for the money you really can't beat it.

I can't speak for people with small children since I don't have any, but as an adult who doesn't travel with kids, I would DEFINITELY stay here again. I've stayed in almost every resort on property. While my favorites are WL and AKL, I find that we generally don't spend enough time in the room to really enjoy the ambience that much anyway.

:D

The pools are so much better at the deluxes and less crowded.

I can't agree with that. I was at the Poly from Nov 8-16 and the volcano pool was simply packed all the time! We tried it in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening and it was always full. I'm talking no room to swim. We ended up using the quiet pool all the time because there just was no room to move in the other one.

I really like the idea of the food court. Eventhough the deluxe resort has a counter service rest.. the variety of a food court is not there. Our last trip was 5 days at the WL and even with numerous sit down meals, we got really bored with the offerings at Roaring Forks and that was with just breakfast and the occasional lunch or dinner. We leave for Pop tomorrow and am very excited to experience the variety in the food court. Tie-dyed cheesecake, here I come!!

my Dh actually preferred ASMO over the GF:p more Disney feel to it::yes::

I think you hit the nail on the head . . ."more Disney feel to it". There is no mistaking that you're in WDW. The Values are good about that. :D

The deluxes all have a food area that you can get burgers, chicken fingers, pizza, uncrustables, sandwiches, and so on. I didn't know if you knew this or not. At least the Poly and the WL do. There are tables and booths to sit at and even microwaves and toasters for your use. It may not have a huge selection of food as the foodcourts do but it does have plenty to chose from.

We spent a week at WL. We loved the theming. However, we found the food selections limited for our family's preferences. Roaring Forks is a blast - but not some place we would choose more than once during a week long stay. Artist Point is nice too - again not someplace we care to repeat night after night. The limited selection at the deluxe counter service/snack bars just doesn't offer enough selection for a weeks worth of lunch/dinner (We usually eat one or the other at our resort each day of our stay.)

Now see it was plenty for us. We generally grabbed a bagel for breakfast if we weren't going out. If we were hanging at the pool we might get a burger though I usually drank my lunch from the pool bar! LOL! We too only used the food area a few times but that was because we mostly ate at nicer places or got room service. If I had to eat there every day for at least one meal then it wouldn't have had the choices I want whether it was a full blown food court or something small like in the deluxes.
