Why is October more expensive than September?

I had just assumed that they'd both be value rates, but the October dates are about $15 per night more than September.

I thought they were both pretty equal crowd wise, so I was just curious.

Thanks,
Deb

I have noticed this too. The only thing I can think of is they don't consider it Vaule anymore. For 2011 they have changed their vaule seasons. The first couple of weeks of Dec used to be considered vaule and they are not for 2011.:sad2:

October has been more expensive for years. One reason may be because it has more conventions (including ITxpo) which help fill the hotels, that being because the risk of hurricanes and such is less during October.

Some school districts have a fall break in October, and the weather is usually a bit cooler than in September.

I think October is very popular due to MNSSHP and the Food & Wine Fest, among other reasons (such as possibly cooler weather).

We did October 2nd to 16th this year. I am doing 15 nights next year, which is one extra night, for a better price even considering increase prices of park ticket and upgrading DD to adult QSDP for which she got the kids plan this year. It saved me a lot by booking the last week in September and first week of October instead of all October. Flight prices also jump as soon as you hit October. At least the ones I looked at do.

F&WF, MNNSHP, 2 week school break for those residing in England, one week break for some schools in the south, perfect weather. We love October! :cool2:

We usually go in Sept, but decided to go Oct 9th-17th this year. Crowds were alot worse than we we're used to, alot of kids on fall break, plus Food & Wine Festival going on.

You also the Columbus Day weekend crowds.

i think it is all because of the seasons..i am not sure baout this...was thinking the same and i think it might be due to their profits...may be that month is more advantageous for them

Late August through and including September is Value season because it is the height of hurricane season. October has some of the nicest weather of the year in Florida. September has always been cheaper than October.
