Hey all,

Any idea why I can't get even a sniff at BCV or BWV in August? We currently have a 2BR reserved at VWL from 8/16-8/22, but would love to go home to BCV, or at the very least stay near EPCOT. They're both booked solid, not even a day is available! Any ideas?

Because its only 3 months away. Dvc rooms always book up eventually. The system is designed so they're almost always at full occupancy, and by now those rooms have been open to owners at other resorts for 4 months.

MOST FOLKS with kids vacation at that time before they return to school. We always traveled that time of year when summer camps and sports commitments were over before school begins again. GOOD LUCK..HOPE that your waitlist comes through.

The Member Cruise begins August 24, so some folks like us are spending time at WDW before. We're not your competition though, we're trying out the Poly DVC.

Also, the second half of August costs fewer points than mid-June to mid-August.

We often go in mid-August. It costs less points-wise than early summer. If we have to visit in the summer (and we usually do), I like to save points if we can. The crowds are somewhat less too and many folks enjoy not being elbow to elbow.

it is a very busy time. 2 years ago i couldnt even get AKV at 7 months. slightly lower crowds than summer, kids not back at school yet and lower points.

Didn't know about the Member Cruise....I was just kinda surprised that there wasn't even single day available at either BWV or BCV. I was willing ot even do a split stay, but oh well....thanks everyone!

It seems like there are fewer and fewer slower times in general. I used to be able to grab a BW or BC room three months in advance no problem. Now it is luck of the draw. I think DVC has gotten way more popular and renting points has as well. Disney has also done a much better job of promotions / events / etc. to keep occupancy super high virtually year round. Even the super slow January time frame has gotten busier. At least in my experience.

Its nuts, we booked a BCV 1bd at 6.5 months out, as our member number didn't come through before 7, we have 2 waitlisted nights of our 9.
