Hope you don't mind me sharing this but it has really made me sad & angry. DH went to a funeral yesterday for an old colleague who died a couple of weeks ago at just 40 years old. He was taken ill very suddenly, found to have cancer and died within a matter of days. He and his wife had always wanted children and although unable to have any of their own had adopted an 18 month old boy a short time ago. We were horrified to learn yesterday that just FOUR DAYS after his death social services arrived and took the little one back. So not only has she lost her husband but also her much wanted child too. Naturally she is fighting to get him back.

You can always rely on social services to get it right ......
:furious:

The poor woman, hope she's got plenty of strength to get through this. The Social Services always seem to turn up to the wrong cases, but in their defence I suppose I don't know their responsibility, but if the couple had been cleared for adoption you would have thought everything was cut and dried. Good luck to the lady concerned.

:Pinkbounc So sorry for your collegue's situation, its hard enough to grieve for one person, not two. makes me sad and angry too,

Oh my god that is awful! That is just such an insensitive thing to do. I hope the lady gets her son back and is left alone to grieve in peace. :grouphug:

How sad. I hope they are reunited soon

That is disgusting. Please keep us updated on her fight, I will be thinking of her.
