that when I go bra-shopping I can't find the size I need? Everything was either small enough to be a teacup or large enough to double as a soup tureen, with some large enough you could use them to parasail with. :rotfl2:

Where are you finding these parasails? I'm a DDD and it's so hard to find pretty bras in my size.

I used to be a DDD and could not find anything remotely sexy, then came the reduction surgery July, now I can find cute, pretty bras again.

I'm average size in everything (7 in shoes, 8 or med. in clothes etc) so things are often picked over especially on sale racks. I found the most wonderful bras in Target of all places. They just caught my eye when I was in one day and I tried one. It's like I don't even have it on it's so comfortable. You can't beat the price either. They're made by Gilligan & O'Malley.

As a "teacup" size gal, I can never find bras that fit to begin with in the stores and always have to go to Victoria's Secret and spend big $$ on a bra that fits. I'd love to find "teacup" size bras at Target, Wal-Mart or any other store for less than I have to pay at Victoria's Secret.

My husband about has a panic attack whenever I mention breast reduction.

I'm glad you're happy with your reduction. I've heard others say it really changed their lives. I do wish they'd make sexy bras in bigger sizes, though. I really don't understand why they don't.

Have you tried going to a certified bra fitter? I think that Dillards and JC Penney's have certified bra fitters.

...and I'm on the other end of the spectrum! I have to go to VS to get the bigger sizes!

The only time I went to a certified bra fitter (JC Penny's) was when I got a visit from the Chest Fairy during pregnancy. My size went down from what it had been before but only by a little.

I ended up buying a 3-pack of 'sports' bras because I couldn't find anything I wanted that didn't have a wire in it. I hate those stupid wires poking into me. I will not wear a bra that has them. And it seemed that if a bra didn't have the wires in them, even in the larger sizes (c+), they all padded or 'water' filled. :confused3 If a person has a C+ sized chest, why would they need a padded bra?

Lane Bryant has DDD F and G.

TOV.... I went bra shopping last weekend. I feel your pain. Never did find one I liked that was in my price range. I swear I need to take out a loan to replenish my bra drawer.

Oddly enough a padded bra for larger sizes is actually a GOOD idea. The look is smoother and a padded bra really doesn't add the size the way you think it would. I speak from experience. I never thought it made sense either until I tried it and you might be surprised. If you are over a C I don't see how you can get by with just sports bras. I wear a sports bra for exercise and it just squishes them and looks awful. If you buy a good bra then the underwear shouldn't bother you - especially if you hand wash or wash in a lingerie bag.

I don't mind having my girls squished together..squishing together creates cleavage! :teeth:

It's the best thing I ever did for myself. Running is so much easier and my posture is much better. I know my sister in law was unhappy with her choice to do it, but my cousin was thrilled. I felt like I had to take the gamble. I'm glad I did.
I totally agree with you, they should really make sext bras in larger sizes, it seems like their would be a market for it especially with so many getting implants these days.

Bra shopping is miserable. Not only am I a DD but also a 32. I almost never find anything in that size, and forgot about it being cute. VS use to have a pretty good selection in this size but it seems to be diminishing and of course they are so expensive. I have considered getting a reduction but i really want to breastfeed when we hve a kid way down the road

I used to feel this way, too. And then I discovered that the poking was just because those bras weren't fitting right. The wires were hitting where they weren't meant to! By the end of the workday, I just couldn't wait to get home and take the cursed things off.

My moment of clarity occurred at Victoria's Secret, when a very helpful salesgirl measured and made sure I was in the right size. Once I found a style and size that fit me correctly- AHA!!!! Sweet Comfort!!

Now I only wear the wires, and they're so comfy that I can sleep in them.

Don't give up and go to the sports bras. Go to VS or a store that has a good fitter to help you, and patiently try until you find the size and style that is really the right fit. Good bras aren't cheap, but they are worth every penny for the comfort.

Being measured for the right size is SO important and wearing the right style for your body shape is important too. And you should be measured at least once a year for the proper size because your body changes as you age and also with any change in weight, so what worked last year may not work this year.

I speak from experience. Lately my bras have been a bit uncomfortable. I'd been measured in the past and was buying the right size, but that right size isn't the same anymore. I measured myself again yesterday and have discovered that my band size went down 2 sizes, but my cup size went up one size. (Hubby was happy about that - although I was never small to begin with.)

Darn these..things. They have taken over my chest and I do not like it. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Makes me wish I could be like the ancient Amazon warrior women, who would chop them off to be better fighters.

From one "teacup" gal to another, go check out the little girl section. They move a lot of the A cup size bras over there in the training bra section. I never could figure out why the dept. stores didn't carry very many small bras, now I know they do, they just split them with the "girls" dept. Another added bonus, they also seem to be priced a little cheaper than the regular bras in the ladies section. :thumbsup2

I guess the stores figure if you need an A cup you MUST be a little girl. ;)
