Why is it so hard to decide...BCV or VWL?

Whew, I finally found someone to rent DVC points from for Thanksgiving week! We can reserve BCV now and try at 7 months out to switch to VWL. I am trying to get my whole family (13) to stay at the same resort, so I've booked three rooms at the WL for them (BC rooms are over our total budget). However, I could try and rent more points and book them all into BCV. I'm so confused! I tried to find VWL points to rent but there weren't any posted. So I found BCV points available, and thought maybe I should grab them and try to switch later.

Our family consists of kids ages 3, 6, 12, 12 and 15, and eight adults (one 70-year-old). How in the world does anyone decide where to stay? Any advice?

lol - I originally had Riverside booked for 3nights and VWL for 6nights
Last wk I changed that to WL for 3nights and BCV for 6nights
Its a tough choice. Can you do both?
We're going in Aug and figure we'll need more pool time
