Why is Gold AP blocked on June 1, 2021?

Er... I arrive June 1 with a reservation for Epcot...let's hope they let me in 😆
Just for academic purposes, I tried to make a park reservation for Easter Week 2022 with my new Gold AP and the app wouldn't allow it, saying that I didn't have "valid admission" for that date. But, I can book June 1, 2021 if I want to. So something is definitely messed up with the display for Gold AP blocks out dates.

I'm sure it's a glitch, but I'm definitely wasting my Sunday by calling the AP line anyway. It's my fly-in day, and I was able to score a late Le Cellier - blockouts be darned.

I contacted the AP hotline this morning and was told that it is definitely a glitch. Hopefully that is true as we are Gold AP and have reservations from May 29-June 4.

So the CM I spoke with just put a complimentary 1-day pass on my account specifically for 6/1 "just in case - this looks like a glitch, but I don't want you to miss your reservation either way!"

She explained that everyone she spoke with is in agreement that the single blockout date is so weird, and they've elevated it to the "highest level of passholder CMs," but she didn't want my existing plans to be swiped out from under me in the rare case that this held. I didn't even ask - I assumed she was going to just tell me to call back and check, but she encouraged me to screenshot my plans and she'd add this ticket just in case.

Wow. That was so, so kind of her, I'm still in a bit of post-call happy shock.

so what happens to the 1-day pass if this was indeed a glitch, and it isn't needed? Free 1 day park pass?

CM told her the 1 day pass was "specifically for 6/1". I would imagine it'll expire at the end of that day whether she uses it or not.

It's still showing, but it has to be a glitch.

I tried to make a park reservation for a known blocked date in December and it said I didn't have valid park tickets. Then I made one for Epcot on June 1 and it worked.

so now the question is why was it ever greyed out to begin with? What is disney doing with IT behind the scenes?

needless speculation: is this somehow FASTPASS+ related? could they be looking to start FPs on June 1?

Rumor mill time!

I'd say the chances of it being fp+ related are no higher than 0%.

I got an email follow-up that said the calendar was mistakenly pulling blockout dates from Silver instead of Gold - is that true? I'm not familiar with Silver blockouts.

Silver blocks out most of the Summer (June through early August). Both Silver & Gold are blocked out for Spring Break and mid-December until after Jan 1.
