Not sure why but it appears like something unusual is happening this weekend. DL is scheduled to open at 9:30AM Saturday with no MM. So MM was switched to Friday.
That must be it. The half marathon is actually on Sunday and DL opens at 9AM rather than the typical 8AM, with MM before. The Family Fun Run and Kid's Races are Saturday morning.
Interesting. Anyone go during this event last year? How does it impact the crowds at DL? I'm thinking maybe I should sleep in on Saturday and just be at CA for the opening....since we're staying at GCH and have the separate entrance.

Remember that part of DCA generally opens at 9:30 (at both GCH and main entrances), so really, it's the same time. Great way to get a FP for Soarin' (though that's going the opposite way from GCH) and get on TSMM early!

Please also note that Disneyland Half Marathon Participants are also being invited to celebrate their Magical Triumph at The Happiest Place on Earth with Discounted Theme Park Admission Tickets valid the day of the race. This is in addition to several other Pre-Marathon activities taking place inside the Theme Parks as well as at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort in the days prior.
Combined with increased traffic in the Anaheim Resort Area, it is looking to be quite a busy day.

My friends ran the 1/2 marathon last year and were surprised at how mild the crowds were (compared to what they were expecting). We made the mistake of popping out of the 'secret' DGC door right in the middle of the 1/2 mrathon, with a surprised CM waving at us to stay back (which we would have done as there was a WALL of people running by). So we were stuck in that little grass area for a very long time until we finally called another member of our party to come down and open the door..soo..don't come out that door during marathon time
We arrive at 7:00 am that day, so breakfast in Whitewater sounds like a good idea..
