Supply and demand... 2042 expiration, and least desirable of all the resorts that expires on 2042. People rather get Boardwalk and Beach Club, etc..., so Boulder Ridge prices get depressed. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad resort, plenty of people like it, just location wise it seems most people prefer the other 2042 resorts.

I totally agree. If you don't mind the expiration date then its a Steal in my opinion. Its a much better buy than OKW with a 2042 expiration date but has similar pricing.
2042 OKW is pretty close in price to BRV. BCV and BWV have higher demand due to location, location, location. If BRV was on the monorail it would go for more. If you are good with the 2042 end date, then enjoy the lower buy in. SSR is going for a couple dollars more and expires in 2054, but it does not have the lobby the Wilderness Lodge has.
We are in our 50's so the earlier expiration is ok with us. We do love WL at Christmas time like everyone else, haha. If we want to visit in early December, should we look for a Dec or Feb UY?
@eeyoresmom If you want to visit in early december most of the time, DONT GET A FEB UY. Also, dont do dec uy since it would complicate if you ever had a reservation overlapping your user year date of Dec 1 as it would then have to be broken up. Your typical travel would then be outside of the 8 month banking and borrowing window, so it wouldn't allow any flexible if you had to cancel last minute. You'll be able to always book 11 months out, so in early January for early december and your UY doesnt impact that. I'd suggest any UY that keeps december within that 8 month window for bankng those points: June, August, September, October
I bought BRV exactly for Christmas time (It rocks!)
Also, I think BRV is typically easier to get at 7 months that most others so it is not as expensive.
Its not like the Epcot resorts and food and wine for example, or even flower and Garden
But anywhere in December, you need Home field advantage.
That being said, be aware that it is starting a MUCH needed refurb this year.
I totally agree and I'd try to buy the "biggest" small contract you can find. I don't understand why this resort is priced so low, even though it is a 2042 expiration. It is one of our favorite resorts, theming is gorgeous and we love the proximity to MK and monorail transportation without the crowds...I think the boat ride keeps it quiet.
Back when it was the only MK DVC resort it was priced almost the same as BWV and BCV. But then BLT, VGF and PVB were added and although it's just a short boat ride away VWL is not on the monorail. That's more the timing when the separation really happened. Then CCV was added and there's another DVC resort right at the same location so once again pricing hasn't moved up as much as at other locations.
Its only a few dollars away(sometimes equal) from what AKV is going for resale wise. If you want a longer contract than 2042 I would AKV or SSR over BRV. Unless you are just dying to make BRV your home resort or don't want a contract after 2042.
