I saw that Big Thunder Mountain railroad is closed for months... Anyone know why that is? Is it just a long refurb?

Thanks :thumbsup2

Did you get this information on the DIS Calendar? If so, it was last years information. The Dis will not update their calendar until the DLR calendar is released (which is about 6 weeks prior)...otherwise, they have last years info listed. You will know it has the correct information when it lists OFFICIAL on the day you are looking at.
BTMRR was closed all of last year. I have not heard that it will be closed in the future.

Oooh... Yes thats where I got it. Thanks for clearing that up!

Whew... I got worried there for a sec. It was closed last time we went for the big refurb and we're so excited to try it when we go later this year. Glad it's open!:thumbsup2

If you're a fan but haven't had a chance to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad since its refurb, you'll be in for a really awesome surprise! Not only has everything been given a complete, fresh overhaul, with rebuilt trains and track, but new effects have been added that look great!

I am beyond excited! We have now missed BTMRR on our last 3 trips because of the refurb. We *almost* got a chance to ride it in March, our last 1/2 day was the first day of the AP preview but our son ended up getting sick the night before and there was no way I was going to take him on a ride like that, poor kid could not even eat a few bites of toast without throwing up.

That was one of the reasons we are fitting in a 3rd trip before our APs expire in September! :cheer2:
