Why I love my DVC

I've only owned for just over a year. I've stayed at SSR and BWV and have a Jan. trip to OKW.

I was browing on another section of the Disboards and a thread was going on about people looking for Jan. discount codes and AP rates. I sat looking at the screen thinking "that's why I love my DVC. No searching and hoping for codes. Just call MS and use my points!"

Yes, I agree. Although I do still try to get discounted rates when I come up for a quick weekend. The Florida resident rate is a great thing too.

I used to be fanatical code checker before joining DVC. I agree, it's much more relaxing to not have to worry about it.

Having said that, I now obsess over what the next discount on add-ons will be.

We love owning DVC and part of it was knowing I would not have to spend hours calling and searching the internet for codes. It is a real mental health boost to know that we can go to WDW without worrying about the room cost!

We loved it for a few reasons. First, the room is paid for, no searching for codes, no saving for it, nothing. It's done. Second, how big the rooms are, the bathroom, the kitchen all of it. And third, the washer and dryer. We love the fact that each day after we are done with the parks, we just throw the days clothes in the washer and we don't have to worry about coming home with dirty clothes. For me that is a big thing!

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I kinda miss searching for codes. It was fun- like finding something on sale. But the main reason I love DVC is that the hotel portion doesn't cost anything. On my last trip, I had an AP, stayed at BCV, used frequent flier miles for the ticket-my only cost was food. And on my check-out day, they didn't leave me a check-out ticket. This has happened before, and the first time I called the front desk. "Oh-if you don't have any charges, we don't leave one. You're all set!" I can afford that.
