Why I Love JetBlue (& Travelzoo)!

Earlier this evening, I checked my email and found a message from Travelzoo advising me that several major aircarriers had dropped their fall fares. Using the link they so thoughtfully supplied, I easily checked the fares for my flight in Dec, and the returning flight from MCO dropped by $30! I yelled for my daughter to "get off the phone NOW" and called JetBlue. They said "we have just enough seats left for you" and credited my TrueBlue account by $120 (4 X $30.) Then she noticed that I had $54.40 in credit "just sitting there where you can't use it" , and moved it to be Trueblue account as well. So in about 10 mins, I had a credit in my account of $174.40. I already had $80 in credit from when the outgoing fares dropped by $20. about a month ago, so now I have $254.40 to apply to another Jetblue flight within a year.

All of this is on top of the ridiculously low price I paid for the original tickets ($682. for 4 return flights SYR -MCO) because I had a $240. credit from LAST YEAR, when they took pity on those of us who had to rebook flights after Transmeridian went bankrupt, and they gave us a credit of $30 for each ticket, for each leg.

Oh yeah, they also sent me an email about 2 months ago, letting me know that my route now has nonstop flights available, and they switched me onto the direct flights (which were more expensive!) AT NO EXTRA CHARGE!!! No change fee and no upcharge!

So to recap, I now have direct flights, that get me in to Orlando 5 hours earlier (11:50 am), and back to SYR by 5:50 pm (instead of midnight, which means we can drive the 3.5 hours home without having to pay for another night in hotel in Syracuse). I also have $254.40 in credit on flights that I only paid $682 for to begin with, and they made all the changes for free! Now THAT's customer service!

Jetblue is AWESOME

Another thing to remember about credits in your TrueBlue account, they are fully transferrable. Of course, now that you have us$254.40 burning a hole in your pocket you will almost certainly go back to WDW within the year, but in case you don't, you can always transfer it to your favourite relative, neighbour or friend if need be.

I didn't know that! I am a little selfish with my travel money though, so I probably won't be sharing!

My husband and I will celebrate our 17th anniversary in April, and his birthday is just a few days after that. I am thinking about using the credit towards a trip to NYC (the kids and I have never been). I've requested tickets to The Daily Show and The Colbert Report for that time period, so ieither of the tickets come through then that's what we will do. (Any NYC Disers want to babysit??? ;) )

Glad to hear good things about Jetblue. We will be flying with them for the first
time in April. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
