Why don't they run the Aladdin show everyday?

I just was looking through the calendar that came with our trip stuff and Aladdin isn't showing on the day that we were going to spend at CA. If it's a popular show, why don't they run it every day?:confused3

If I had to make a wild guess I would say because of the cost involved. It has a HUGE cast. That is a lot of payroll, employee benefits, taxes, etc. Plus they need days off, which means if they ran it everyday they would have to have 2 sets of cast members. That would require that many more costumes, more payroll $, more practice time, more training, etc, etc etc. Its not free to run a big stage show!

My best guess would be that this is a Union production, and Equity would have certain regulations about off days for performers. I'm also assuming that there is only one cast, so they can't go to a back-up cast for two days a week.

Yes, the cast needs a break!! This is why we hop everyday back and forth instead of designating certain days to certain parks, we get the best of both worlds!! Just hop over on another day to see it!

I agree! Hop :jumping3: You shouldn't need to designate certain days for certain parks. I always start my day in DL which opens earlier and gets more crowded. I'll often go over to DCA midday.

I've heard they only have one cast for the show, so the days that the show doesn't run are their "weekend".

I think it may be because of the attendance at the park - because shows like Beaty and the Beast, Finding Nemo and the Festival of the Lion King run daily at WDW. . . .

DCA has the lowest attendance of the Disney Parks in the US, so they may not feel it is worth the expense to have more than one full cast.
