Why don't I ever hear about Citrico's?

It's not that I've heard anything bad about it, but why doesn't Citrico's get much love around here? The boards don't seem to have Citrico's name pop up often at all. We are hoping to try it for the first time on what will be our 6th trip. We stayed at GF a few years ago, but our kids were really little, so we skipped it. Now that my boys are 12 and 8 and in love with jazz, I figure, Let's go to hear the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra some evening, and have a nice dinner afterward, and Citrico's seems to fit the bill. So, is it that it's out of the way? Most people prefer character meals so they do 1900 Park Fare instead? Or, if you're going to splurge, the other signature restaurants are more appealing?

Which brings to me ask: IS Citrico's good? Is it really good? Should I splurge on dinner there, or should we save and go for Cali Grill instead?

TIA!

We love Citricos. They don't have it on the menu anymore that I know of, but they used to have a salmon with Yukon gold potatoes and fennel I believe that was one of the best things I've ever eaten anywhere.

We've eaten at Citrico's a few time and compared to some of the other signatures on property, it's kind of mediocre, IMHO. The decor and location aren't terribly exciting and the food wasn't great. I definitely like Cali Grill better for both food and ambiance. We also really love Artist Point at WL - better food, service and atmosphere, IMHO.

Disclaimer - I haven't actually eaten there! I think that for most people, if they're going for a nice meal at Grand Floridian, Narcoossee's is usually the top pick. I think that may be part of the reason it tends to get overlooked. That and the proximity to Cali Grill at the Contemporary.

Love Citricos! Food is delicious and the atmosphere is very pleasant. :earsboy:

Citricos and Jiko are our top 2 favorite sig restaurants. It doesnt get much attention on the boards in my opinion because its not quite as kid friendly and does not have the views that CG or Narcoosees have.

I ate there on my honeymoon in 2012 on the DxDP. It was great. But otherwise we do at most 1 signature, and there are just more preferred options for us. Jiko, Le Cellier, Yachtsman

I actually had CG on the list for our October trip but have just recently read some pretty mediocre reviews particularly for a Signature, so I ended with up Cali Grille and Narcoosee's, which I have enjoyed in the past, instead. I haven't tried either CG or Citricos yet so I went for the CG, not only based on reviews, but also because of the fireworks.

Citricos, is so great! TBH I don't know why more people aren't talking about it! Maybe it's because it doesn't really have that kid friendly atmosphere but the food is fantastic, the staff there constantly go above and beyond. I mean if it came down to eating there vs. another signature such as Flying Fish I would probably choose Flying Fish. So maybe that's another reason why, when you compare it to some of the other signature dining options available it's not as much of a stand out. Either way, if you can you should stop in for a meal.

Ate at Citricos this past December and really loved it. Amazing food and great service. I haven't been to California Grill yet so I can't really compare them; in the signature category the only other ones I've been to are Hollywood Brown Derby, Le Cellier, and Monsieur Paul's...I thought Citricos was better than those three (though they were all good).

Thanks, everyone. I think we'll keep our reservation. I like the menu. So many signature restaurants are steak-centric, and this seems really varied and with good combinations.

Shhhhh.... We're keeping it a secret! It's very good, but we don't want it to get to be so popular that we can't get last minute reservations there...

We've eaten there several times also and really enjoyed it. The food is good, the waiting staff is attentive and it's an all around nice place. If I was going to dinner for something special I'd still go to Victoria and Albert's..that's my special place

I understand that you like the menu because it's not so steak-centric but last trip two other people in my party had a steak with some decadent looking sauce on it that looked incredible. I'm not a big steak eater but I think you could do worse than ordering the steak at Citricos. Enjoy the meal!:earsboy:

I've not had great luck at Citricos and end up going back to my favorites - Bluezoo, every trip, sometimes more often or at least for cocktails, FF, CG, Yachtman, and Jikos is really great, but it's an Uber ride there and I often forget about it.

I tried it once and found it just OK, not special to me, and I didn't feel it was worth the price. Of the signatures I've tried, my favorite is Artist Point, with Jiko as runner-up. Will try Tiffin's next trip.

We've eaten at Citricos twice. The first time we had an excellent experience all around. So we went back two years later.... it was disappointing. Food was fine, but the service was TERRIBLE. I'd choose Narccoosse's at the GF over Citricos, and with all of the great new restaurants now open at Disney Springs, I doubt we'll return to Citricos.
