We're leaving next week, and my DD5 and DD2 already are bringing up why Mickey didn't talk last time, and how they hope him and friends will talk to them this year. So...I know this has been discussed before, but I need some good excuses as to why this is, and why the princesses DO talk, even though they're in parades/shows, etc as well. Thanks!

None of the characters with the big heads talk, but since the princesses are actual women in dresses they are kind of expected to talk just like peter pan, aladdin etc.

Also Mickey has such a distinct voice it would be very difficult to speak that way.. :goodvibes

We told our kids when they asked that Mickey, Minnie and all of his friends are so magical that we hear them with our hearts which sends it to our ears so that it is very special magic. They loved it and never asked again. Luckily it is easy to "explain" Disney Magic :wizard:

There are so many guests at WDW, if Mickey spoke to them all he wouldn't have any voice left for the shows. :goodvibes

What a great idea. I couldn't believe this thread, as our DD3, just asked the same thing out of the blue this week. thanks!
