Can't find any reviews.:confused3 Can anyone tell me about their dinner experience? Thanks!

We've eaten there twice and always had good service and good burgers. I'd say yes, expecially if you're staying somewhere on the Boardwalk and it's convenient.

Because there are better places to eat at Disney. ;)

Its fine, but just food. Most people enjoy it for the specialty beers.

Although it's been a while, we have eaten there and enjoyed it. Yes, it's pretty simple but fairly good. More typical "grill" type of food you'd find outside of WDW or at you're neighborhood bar and grill (salads, burgers, sandwiches, etc). But, sometimes it's nice to have that option in WDW because many of the WDW restaurants are so specialized in what they have to offer. I particularly liked their chicken salad. We're actually going to try Kouzzina our next trip but if that falls through Big River Grill will be next on our list.

And, honestly you'll find just as little reviews on ESPN too which is right down the boardwalk and we found that pretty good but again, the same type of simple food. Neither are Disney owned and operated but that doesn't mean they're not any good.;)

I have always enjoyed every meal I ate at BRG.

The beers are flavorful and sitting outside on the boardwalk people watching is priceless.

While I've never been there I have been to another brewery owned by the same company that owns Big River (Gordon Bierch in San Jose) and their food and beer were excellent .

I love the place. That said, I wouldn't have any high expectations for the food itself. It's very good beer in a fantastic location, especially if you sit outside. I've had friends disappointed by their food (but they loved their beer too), but I usually get the burger and I'm happy enough.

Tried some of the beers and liked them overall, especially the Magnolia Brown. We shared the nacho/guac appetizer sitting outside while the kids played games and didn't really care for it so we haven't felt the urge to try a meal there so far.

We had lunch there, outside on the boardwalk and we loved it
Very relaxing and felt we were on another more relaxed beach vacation

I am going to be different here, we really did not enjoy the food. The beer yes, the food not so much. We have tried it 3 times now ( I have no idea why we keep going) and have had the same experience every time.

I believe ESPN is Disney owned and operated, whereas Big River is not.

It's been a few trips, but we enjoyed it. Maybe one reason it doesn't get so much play is that it doens't take reservations. As a group DISers are BIG on havig all their ADR's lined up before they go. I think Big River is popular withthe Swan and Dolphin crowwd - who maybe are at WDW for a convention/conference and aren't as big on making ADR's six months before they go.

it's a great place to go n arrival night when you don't want to be constrained by a specific reservation time.

If you"re going for the special beer selection I'd say go for it. If you're going for the food I'd say skip it. You can get similar style/quality food at any chain restaurant (Applebee's, etc.) so we don't waste a WDW meal there...but that's us. When we're at the Boardwalk we head to ESPN or walk around to Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club.

Thanks everyone!! I think we have decided to switch to Raglan Road, what do you think of that one? It will be me(38) DH(40) DS(14)DD(12)Mom and Dad on the FREE dining plan.:woohoo:

we love big river for lunch. it makes a nice break from epcot. just slip out the international gate, 5 minute walk and there you are!:yay:

The first time we went, the food was great. The second time we went, there was no ground beef left to make hamburgers, no macaroni and cheese, and none of the appetizers that we wanted were available. This was when the meal plan included appetizers, too. We weren't told until we had ordered our beverages that they were having all of these shortages. There were many disgruntled guests that evening. We haven't been back.

Wow, ok, that was quite a 360 unless you're going for the beer...wasn't a real big food fan there...I felt like we were there all night. But, if you really like Irish fare then you may like it. I've not had the urge to try it again. But there are many who like it.

That's our traditional arrival lunch when staying at BWV! Nothing beats their great burgers, sitting outside on the boardwalk and taking it all in........ 39 days from tomorrow......:goodvibes
