IS ANYONE GETTING AS UPSET AS I AM AT THE NEWS PAPERS AND TV NEWS....

EVERYTIME SOMEONE DIEDS AT DISNEY IT IS A NATIONAL NEWS STORY. BUT THEY NEVER BRING UP UNIVERISAL DEADS. ALSO IF YOU HAVE BEEN ON ANY RIDE AT DISNEY, YOU KNOW THAT, THERE ARE SIGNS THAT WARN YOU NOT TO RIDE IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL PROBLEMS

EVERYTIME A DEATH HAPPENS IT IS ALWAYS FOUND OUT LATER (AND THE NEWS DOES NOT REPORT THIS OR MAKE IT FRONT PAGE NEWS) THAT IT WAS FROM A PREEXISTING CONTENTION AND NEVER THE RIDE ITSELF FAULT.

SO I ASKING EVERYONE TO STOP POSTING THESE STORIES AND GETTING PEOPLE ALL WORK UP OVER NOTHING. WE ARE ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD BECAUSE WE LOVE THE MAGIC AND PIXIE DUST. YES I LOVE TO HEAR THE RUMORS ABOUT WHAT IS THE NEXT RIDE OR THE NEW DVC RESORT. BUT WHY DO PEOPLE TAKE THE TIME AND EFFOERT TO REPORT THE CRAP THEY CALL NEWS

JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND REMEMBER THE LAST TIME YOU WHERE AT DISNEY AND ALSO THE FIRST TIME.....IT WAS AND STILL IS A GREAT MEMORY RIGHT!!!! :woohoo:

SO WHO IS WITH ME....STOP POSTING CRAP :furious:

Apparently you just got to the boards, but some of us are here for more than magic and pixie dust.

Disney is higher profile than other parks. That's the way they like when they open Expedition:Everest or some big marketing promotion. So they're gonna get more scrutiny when something bad happens.

I don't see that as the news bad-mouthing Disney. The coverage has included the autopsy results and such.

Ok First, please don't use ALL CAPS when typing your post.

Second try to use correct spelling and grammar so your post is at least readable.

Third, isn't it possible that the reason why there aren't any deaths reported from Universal is because there haven't been any recently?

Lastly, this is the NEWS and RUMORS board, and we're free to discuss anything that appears in the news and try to determine what it's worth

Yes. I get very upset every time I look at a newspaper or catch the TV news. But Disney news has got NOTHING to do with it! I mean...really man...just look at the front page. A lil' perspective, ya know?

I'm afraid that the other posters are correct, this is a News and Rumors forum, not just rumors. I'm sorry you don't like the way the mainstream media is handling this last series of incidents at WDW, but if you look through the information here on the R&N forum, I believe you'll find it relatively fair and balanced.

We come here to see the stuff that the mainstream media doesn't make front page news - like the facts from autopsies. I honestly can't say whether or not Universal has had similar problems because I don't care about Universal. My focus is Disney (and all of its business segments).

Please take a deep breath and know that my mantra is that everyone has a right to their opinion, and as long as people are nice to each other, they are allowed to post their opinion. Disagree with ideas and I will support you, attack or denigrate individual posters and the thread will be closed or deleted.

Please enjoy the rumors and news that our community posts in this forum.

Some balanced news for the original poster....found this while searching...er...my hard drive. I guess Disney doesn't always get the blame!! (snark alert!)

Woman falls, hits head after Mission: Space

A stupid, clumsy, drunken 35-year-old woman suffering from heat prostration, an overdose of prescription painkillers and PETSS (Post-Eisner Traumatic Stress Syndrome) purposely fell and lost consciousness after getting off Mission: Space at Epcot on Monday night, authorities said.

The woman, who was described only as "one of those crazy local AP holders," was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center about 8:30 p.m. by the hospital's helicopter in "improving condition....seriously, man.... improving condition" authorities said.

By 11:30 p.m., Disney World officials said the woman had been "treated, released, paid off and in better condition than God Almighty himself."

The woman, who had attempted to exit Epcot's 3-year-old spaceflight-simulator ride before it had stopped spinning, was talking to several suspicious bystanders when she "dove headfirst into the pavement from a standing position," hit her head and was briefly unconscious, said Deputy Chief Bo Diddley of the Ready Kilowatt Fire Department. It's unclear why she fell, Chief Diddley said.

When rescue crews arrived, she had regained consciousness but was not completely alert and had tingling in her arms and hands, Diddley reported. Eyewitness reports say that she was mumbling something bout 'the return of Horizons', 'car three' and 'that $#$&@ Eisner'.

:rotfl2:

I think Channel 7 also reported that earlier in the day she had parked at Downtown Disney and taken the bus to the Beach Club, where she refilled an old mug and snuck into Stormalong Bay.

I'm sorry that I'm not as savy as the rest of you on the disboards. I agree everyone has their opinion, I was just seeing if anyone agreed with me.

And do the person that made the comment about Universal, yes recently they had another death on Hulk, but it was back page news here in Orlando.

That is what got me fired up. So it is headline news when the kid gets dizzy on Mission Space, but not when a woman has a heart attack on Hulk and dieds on the ride.

Sorry to get any of you mad....

and yes I'm a cast member

Now that is funny as all hell

The news media wouldn't hype it if the public didn't eat it up. Same reason the tabloids stay in business. There are lots of dumb people out there.

Exactly..... They have to sell newspapers and air time. What ever we, the public, eat up, that's what they print. It's not just Disney news, it's a lot of things.

Disney is run by inept morons. The bad press is deserved.

There, bet that generates even more posts then BoL's hilariousness.

Look at the bright side. The reason Disney was front page and Universal was not is that a lot more people care a lot more about Disney. Heck, does Universal has cool threads like we do here. I say thee nay!!!

And don't take this the wrong way but the capital letters thing has got to go. But I'm glad you're on board the DIS boards.

Oh...wow....see that? After reading the newspaper article I hated this woman but this Channel 7 report has me thinking that maybe she isn't half bad after all!

p.s....except i would've skipped the bus ride from Downtown Disney and parked right at the Beach Club!
