Why does my use year matter?

Your UY starts the calendar for banking your points. Starting with your UY month, you have 8 months to bank your unused points.

You can not bank your points during the last 4 months of your UY.

The goal is to choose a UY where you vacation during the first 8 months of the UY in case you have to cancel your reservation.
