Why does MK close at 7:00 PM on May 7th?

Sorry if this has been posted, I was just curious since we are supposed to go that day. Is there a special event of some sort? I noticed they aren't doing fireworks either. Does anybody know why?

As much as I'd stand on my head and wiggle my toes to get a link from disboards, I can't remember ever posting on my site about Grad Nites...though I will one of these days!! Thanks for the link to my site tho , MOmousefan!

For what it's worth, early May is already a quiet time at WDW, and I'm pretty sure the kids attending grad nights are NOT allowed in early--they need to go through special security, and letting them in early would allow the more easy hiding of celebratory liquids.

So my guess is that the am will be fine, but that the pm, while not crowded, will be more crowded than it would otherwise be, as some families, not having the option of taking the afternoon off and returning for the evening, stay all day instead...
