Hi All, I'm just wondering if I am alone in this or if their are other fellow Disney fans out there who it seems just about every time it gets close to going on that magical trip to the "Happy Place" some unexpected fiasco goes on? I just returned a few days ago from Disney/Universal with my family but a week prior to leaving everything that could break or need repairs happened....:confused3 To give examples:

1. My beloved SUV check engine light came on and of course warranty is over! It turned out to be a sensor that went bad but after parts and labor it cost major unexpected bucks.:(
2. One night while washing clothes I attempted to dry said clothes and for sure the dryer decides to NOT COME ON!!! Service people said I needed a new 1. Ok so that wasn't expected!
3. After a long day I went to take a long relaxing shower to unwind before bed but to my horror when I get out of the shower I step in a pool of water! Turns out the hose on the retractable shower head is cracked so water was spraying out while I took that long shower. Oh well add new shower head.:sad2:
4. Warming the kids dinner 1 evening the microwave starts sparking, I thought maybe I put a fork in there but no, I lift up the rotating dish and there is a rust spot that proceeds to spark when food is warmed. Now have to buy a new microwave.:headache:
5. Ironing clothes to pack for the big trip to my favorite place the iron decides to spit water all over and leave brown spots on the clothes. Ok I guess new iron.:faint:
6. Packing kids school bags for class 1 morning and to my surprise DD5 backpack is ripped and everything falls out. Now I have to make a quick trip to Walmart before dropping kids off at school.:worried:

Needless to say I was very, very annoyed and frazzled by departure day. Add in the fact that I hate flying, (it messes with my sinuses) and I was traveling with family that do not share my enthusiasm and luv of all things Disney but insisted on us taking a family vacation together since my beloved mother passed away 2 years ago and wanted to do something together as a family. I usually go just myself, DH, DS8 and DD5 (Dmom/RIP use to come with us) and we like it that way. This time my dad, sis and her boyfriend, myself and my DS and DD all went for MNSSHP since dad had a work convention in Orlando. But all these unexpected snafus really put a damper on my mood leading up to the trip but I had a good time considering those snafus and my non-Disney family.:)

So if anyone is so inclined, please let me know the crazies before a Disney trip are not just my experience alone....:listen:
Oh and if this topic has already been discussed I apologize as I am new to the DIS boards....:disrocks:

I feel your pain. We had a trip planned a few years ago when one night DS said there was water coming from UNDER the bathtub. Yeah, ended up in a bathroom remodel I didn't plan for. Sucked my Disney fund right up!

I haven't had any repairs to make but I have had some setbacks money wise with this upcoming trip. I'm just hoping to overcome them and I just want to be able to relax and enjoy the trip when it gets here.

There is this guy named Murphy that always seems to be discussed at times like these. Luckily, we have not had anything serious happen before heading to Disney. However, every time we do have a problem, it is always a Sunday or Holiday. Seriously, how is that even possible?:confused3
