Why does anyone want to mini golf in WDW?

We go for 14 nights and get a 10 day park ticket so we fill the other days with DTD, Character meals and Mini Golf.

My niece and I played Winter side of Winter Summerland when we played and we had fun. Neither of us had played mini golf before.

Everyone likes to vacation differently. We have a mini-golf park ten minutes from us, but it's closed the majority of the year. I wouldn't be opposed to mini-golf on a break day or if I were looking for something relaxing to do.

I just can't understand why anyone would want to mini golf when there are so many exciting rides/shows in the parks. I would only do it if I had a free pass and no park ticket for the day. We have mini golf at home and I like to do things on vacation that I can't do near home. Even window shopping at Disney is different and sounds better than minigolf. Please explain the appeal of this.

Why does anyone want to go back to the hotel and nap? Why does anyone want to stay in a time share? Why does anyone want to stay in a value?

Different strokes for different folks. Some people stay in WDW for 2 weeks that gives them plenty of time to try everything.

I could see where it would be fun to mini golf at Disney. We have never tried it at Disney, but I am sure if we had a lengthy stay it would be a magical addition to the trip on a day not spent at parks.

It's one way we relax and enjoy some family time away from the crowds and excitement of the parks. i guess it's just that we choose to spend our vacation time a little differently.

We have 3 amusement parks in our area, we still choose to travel thousands of miles away to go to WDW. I know not exactly the same, but I hope you understand the point.

We enjoy the little things that Disney offers as we don't spend all day, ever day at the parks. It's a change of pace, quiet and let's us talk about our experiences and what we would would like to do the next day or so. We don't plan everything out so things change for us. We have also gone fishing, rented boats, rented bicycles, horse/carriage ride, etc..... All those things take time away from the parks, but we enjoy them.

We typically start our vacations with 3 non-park days. We mini golf one of those days. It's SO relaxing. We did winter side the first time, summer side the next, and are planning on doing Fantasia Gardens next month. With the free game vouchers - even better!!! We are also going bowling, going to see a movie, and going resort-hopping. After countless trips to the parks over the years, and not caring for the new changes, we are looking for alternate ways to fill our WDW vacations. Mini golf suits that just perfectly!!

For us, it's a nice break from the parks. On a weeklong trip, I never go anymore without building at least one day into our week for relaxing and just doing something fun and different. We enjoy minigolf because it's so much more fun at Disney! The theming is great. Also, it's a good alternative for the first day/night if you don't want to burn a day on your ticket.

We've only done it a couple of times, but to answer your question - guess because it 'is' Disney and is more exciting!

'But', in that vein, why would anyone want to ride horses, go to movies, bowl at Splitsville, spend time in the pools (except water parks, I get that) and a number of other things that can also be done most anywhere? :confused3 We haven't done any of these things, but lots of people do.

How long do you usually spend at the mini golf places? I'm just trying to figure out if we can fit it into our schedule or not since we'll have free passes that we could use.

Thanks!

It depends on when you go...we went in December and it took about an hour and a half, early February took about an hour, both times were about 10am. It seems to get a lot busier in the afternoons and evenings.
