Why does anyone want to mini golf in WDW?

I just can't understand why anyone would want to mini golf when there are so many exciting rides/shows in the parks. I would only do it if I had a free pass and no park ticket for the day. We have mini golf at home and I like to do things on vacation that I can't do near home. Even window shopping at Disney is different and sounds better than minigolf. Please explain the appeal of this.

We like the theming and we don't always do parks when we go. And no other mini golf we have been to has been as nice as the ones at Disney. They aren't even Disney themed. :-)

My son loves it, especially winter summer land! It's fun and a nice break from the parks.

We are doing it the day we fly back home. Instead of going into the parks we are mini golfing and doing a little shopping. Plus, we'll have the 2 free game vouchers, so why not!

My kids love mini-golf, and have been asking to do mini-golf at Disney. Our last trip was a relaxed trip, and I only planned to attend two of the parks, with plentiful breaks. I had planned to mini-golf on our next-to-last night, but DS was having foot problems, and the thunderstorms rolled in about the time I would have liked to have gone. Maybe next time!

The free tickets makes it appealing to us, especially on our last day.

Where we live, our mini golf course is outdoors, hence, closed about seven months out of the year, so... for something fun to do on a last day (and free), mini golf is a perk. :)

On your last day and your tired of the crowds and being run over by strollers it's nice to get away. Summer winter land is a wonderful place to get away and enjoy yourself. The theme of the course is a lot of fun. You always have down time waiting to leave for the airport. What better way to fill this time than having fun and enjoying your final minutes at Disney. I love it no other little golf course like it.

We did mini golf and pool time on the day we had Xmas Party tickets. The kids loved both but didn't get too worn out before heading to MK.

It's really no more complicated than people having different tastes and different things they enjoy.

We enjoy doing things outside the parks on our trips. Not a full day, but sometimes. Our trips are always at least 9 days, and we like mini golf. There are no places to mini golf near our home; the only time we get to play is on vacation.

On our last trip, we found it more enjoyable to spend only a few hours in the main parks each day and the rest of the time at water parks. I don't see that changing.

I haven't been yet but I do plan on having a go at the mini golf. It's something nice to do on down time and there's always a good chance of having a laugh as well. :)
Like other people I don't have mini golf near where I live so it's a change as well. Even as a child we would always have a round of mini golf on holidays.

For me, winter summerland was a good way to spend a couple of hours right after lunch on my Blizzard Beach day. With the number of plus options that get added to your ticket. If you add the water parks, taking a couple of hours for the mini golf was free.

I used to wonder the same thing, but we tried Winter Summerland on our last trip (which admittedly was a non-parks trip) and LOVED it. It is so much more interactive than typical mini golf places. The kids (10 and 8 at the time) each made a couple of holes in one. My sister got the best score of the day and got a certificate for it. I know it's hard to believe, but our kids would give up park time to be able to mini golf there again. Definitely a case of "don't knock it until you've tried it!"

after you have ridden all the rides, shopped in all the stores, ate at just about all the places with food, sat on every park bench, seen all the resorts and seen the shows.................... after 40 some odd years and countless trips you look for other things the place has to offer. we don't do it every trip but we do stop to play.
one day I posted my adrs for a trip and a poster asked me why would you eat there? there are so many other places to try that he thought were better. (the person who asked me that has been to wdw about 4 times) my answer was simply "for a change" just something different and something to say "I have done that".:thumbsup2

I have to laugh (not at you) but there are so many "experts" that give there ops on web sites, pod cast that haven't experienced what they are commenting on. (I guess they read it on the internet) im no expert. but give it a shot, come to your own conclusion. who knows it may come on your bucket list on things to do.:thumbsup2

We have more than a dozen mini-golf places in our town. We usually still go to mini-golf in WDW. Why? Well, we are on vacation, and have the time to fit it in. And, we simply LIKE mini-golf. We also have one of the best Boardwalks in the US with a slew of rides here. So when we go away, should we skip WDW altogether? Nah, we like rides. So we go do more of them. ;) Same idea...

Hold on, what am I missing? I just can't imagine that Boardwalk rides ( with the exception of coasters or a carousel?) are better/ equal to the themed rides at WDW, especially the dark rides. Where is this magical place?

I never said they were better or equally themed, but then, with your reply here, I think you may have answered your own question as to why people would mini-golf at WDW... :goodvibes

We are planning on going mini golfing when we visit in about 20 days! We had wanted to do it last time but just didn't have time to. My daughter absolutely loves mini golf so we're excited to see the courses. We have a voucher for 2 free games so we only have to pay for one person in our family, we are driving in super late on a friday so planned on using Saturday as a day to sleep in, go to mini golf, downtown disney, anything else non park we want to do, and then dinner. Go to bed early and wake up refreshed for a super long day at Magic kingdom on Sunday. Our closest mini golf place is about an hour and a half away at home, so we don't go often.......

We only mini golf when on vacation. I can't even tell you where the mini golf courses are here :) We usually go when we are on a longer trip and have a rest day or on an evening when the park closes early (like MK for MNSSHP or on our AK day)

For us, it's a nice break from the parks. On a weeklong trip, I never go anymore without building at least one day into our week for relaxing and just doing something fun and different. We enjoy minigolf because it's so much more fun at Disney! The theming is great. Also, it's a good alternative for the first day/night if you don't want to burn a day on your ticket.
