ITA with the money and the space. The military rates offered through SoG can't even compare to the rates through AFVC. Given the choice between a 2-bed, 2-bath resort for $35 a night or the same from the All Stars... I'd pick off, every time. And I was raised in the Polynesian! 
I hated being forced to share a bed with my sisters at the Poly. And waiting for my turn on the day bed. The resort I go to now has a room with a king bed, a room with two doubles and a pull out couches. No more sharing!! And I won't have to pay for a deluxe resort to fit my family if I have three kids.
I've never minded driving because the summer I worked there, I drove all the time. Last November, I dropped off everyone after the bachelorette party, and it took me much longer to drop off those staying at the All Stars than it did to get back to my own hotel from the Contemporary. It was on 192 in Kissimmee.
