I know kindness is not one of your strong suits, but I did think you knew how to read. I guess I was mistaken. If you read the post you would not have jumped in with yet another NASTY remark. Geesh, does anything nice EVER come out of your mouth?:scratchin

Huh?? What part of that was nasty? And I'm sure you think your response was all sunshine and light. Aren't YOU the sweet one? Why is it ok for you to post whatever on the CB but the members of the DB coming here upsets YOUR sensibilities? You are the one that said when YOU think of Disney you don't think of religion and other non CB type things, but when I think of Disney I'm fairly certain I don't think of MANY of the things that are posted on the CB. Would you like for me to list them so you have a clearer idea of exactly what I'm talking about?

Would this fit the description of a personal attack????

I would think so, I wonder if she thinks of personal attacks when she thinks of Disney?

I don't think so. She will agree that kindness is not one of her strong suits, she staes that in many posts.

Really? You're going to have to point that out to me. At least honesty is one of MY strong points.

Hey! I *do* have a degree in religion! :p

Back on topic... I come to the DISboards in general for a good chat. I read the Disney planning side and asked some questions back in the days when I was planning a trip. I read/post on the eBay mega-thread. I go (er, went) to the DB for some fun debate - and we HAVE had some fun debates. Sure, it's gotten a little testy in there recently, but I just don't read those threads. And then I head over to the CB to have a little light hearted chatting. And no matter what you say, there are times when the CB gets really, really nasty too.

Just checking my READING COMPREHENSION because I could swear I read that you hope the members of the DB would find a new home....

Why do you post
on the Community Board? I for one, come here to escape the "real" world. Planning a Disney vacation can do a world of good, when life's daily problems are looming in your head. The CB and other fluff boards are just the icing on the cake. Its fun to banter back and forth about things, silly and mundane things. I do not come to the DIS to discuss politics, religion, breastfeeding, gay marriages, etc. There are plenty of bulletin boards that "specialize" in such topics. It is my hope that all the people from the debate board can find a new home. Good Luck to all in your quest.

Holly

Yep, that's what I read alright. I thought so.

Bold added by me.

Back to the religion rebuttal. YUP! I learned a lot about religion.

First of all, since I was raised and baptized and confirmed Catholic...i had a lot of questions that got answered. Also, people were saying that if you dont believe in Jesus you are going to be condemned and every other religion was wrong. Well, then a Jewish Diser chimed in and said that maybe if the Jewish followers were right, the Jewish God would be mad because they broke away from him. Again, I am paraphrasing so if I didnt get the words exactly right forgive me. But I think that was the jist.

I never thought of it like that, and I believe every religion is right in one way or another..so I was very enlightened. I learned a great deal and I don't want to turn this into a religious debate at all. My point is, you could learn a lot from most of the debates on that baord.

Wow......I think everybody needs to cut Doesney some slack. I really don't think she posted this thread to make people from the debate board feel as if they are getting attacked.

It's a Saturday morning - the beginning of a holiday weekend - I think everybody should chill out and look for the best in things and not the worst. It almost feels as if everyone is striving to turn this thread into an arguement.

And yet you stay perfectly quiet about gymnasticsmoms continued badgering of the OP and others on this board?
Go figure.

Some people definitely do get away with saying anything they want while others have their posts taken and examined word for word.
I agree with the OP that there are plenty of bulletin boards out there that welcome bad attitudes and nasty behavior........if that's what turns your crank fine, but don't constantly bring it to the CB and expect it to be welcome here.
I don't think she meant to say that the person isn't welcome here, but that the debates (and subsequent bickering) might be more appreciated somewhere else.

Gymnasticsmom, I think you KNEW that's what she meant but you wanted to once again be your true delightful self.

While it may not have been an attack, it certainly was pretty unwelcoming to the disenfranchised DBers.

If people have a complaint about where the DBers are now posting then I would heartily recommend that they forward those complaints to Pete and the rest of the WMs instead of telling the DBers that they are not welcome.

sorry but I can make my own decisions about religion. I don't need a theology major to tell me what I should or shold not believe. If we all needed degrees in what we post about then the DIS would be dead.

And that is great if that is what works for you. However some of us actually like to have our ideas challenged. We find it stimulating to hear what others think. Disussion can make you more determined in your belief, and it can also make you see a new way of looking at things. How can that be bad?
